Has anyone ever had an issue with 1911 .45 ACP ejecting shells at your eye?

Just bought a Tisas 1911A1, and was hit in the eye twice. I had safety glasses on, so they just bounced off. Would have sucked had I not had them on.

Likely ejector/extractor. Might need a gunsmith to adjust. Also maybe the new springs, problem could go away after a while. Would try cleaning and living again too.

It can also happen because of bad technique or a bad grip, but if you're careful, everything should be good. Safety comes first, so it's a good thing that you had those glasses on

Get a Wilson extractor and have a gunsmith tune it for you. Will likely solve your problem.

NOpe, but years ago I knew a woman that wore a low shirt to the range and took a hot shell one to the chest that rolled down her shirt between the girls. That couldn't have been fun.
