I'd probably shoot myself, because it would mean that I'd become one of those assholes who lets a pit bull roam free.

Sounds like there is more info to this story. I have no problem with him shooting large breeds like that especially the pitbull if they are roaming free. I have 3 small kids and would probably have shot them also. However, leaving a note like that is fu*ked up and leads me to believe there is more to it.

Your lawyer couldn't do much, and he definitely couldn't prosecute him.

He could make his life miserable for a while. This guy doesn't sound like he'd know offhand what a lawyer can or can't do. Like I said, the idea is to get him to do something stupid that he can be prosecuted for.

I've shot a pit bull before when my girls were little and was gonna shoot a German Sheperd that attacked one of our bassett hounds and killed a neighbor dog. It hauled arse while I was getting my gun, but I kicked the shite out of it.

That dude would not want to live with me as his neighbor for another day.

I think it's safe to assume there was a history here.

Maybe, or maybe the guy is just an a-hole. Based on the wording of the letter, I'm thinking that's the case. Not, "hey, I had to shoot your dog, was threatening and left me no choice," but almost gleeful, with an implied threat of more violence.

frick him. It would be very tempting to frick up his world, but his sorry arse wouldn't be worth my spending time in jail. Hence, a more subtle approach is warranted.

If a pit bull ever stepped foot in my yard, it would be his last steps

I'll approach large strays (while armed) and at least try to get them home. If any aggression is shown, I'll call the PD here to come get'em. If they're real mean....they sleep with the fishes.

Spread shite covered simplex nails all over in front of his doors, set his house on fire, set up lawn chair, laugh.

I'll always give them one chance to leave while I'm taking aim.

My first instinct would be to break his kneecaps, but that would be playing his game.

Instead, I'd get my lawyer involved to harass the everloving shite out the trashy MFer in whatever way possible. The object being to put him on tilt and wait for him to do something stupid that he could be sued or prosecuted for in a major way.

Exactly this

It's one thing if its a stray or some random dog. But for the guy to know its his neighbors dog then kill it makes him a total a-hole. And he obviously doesn't feel bad about it from the letter. I'd lawyer his arse into a living hell

My first instinct would be to beat him until he was gurgling lung tissue. I have a feeling I would settle for fricking his life and praying that he loses everything he loves.

Hmmm

One guy is an a$$hole that talks big using a letter with crappy hand writing.

The other lets a pit bull roam at large.

As a third party in this neighborhood, I'm looking at moving.
