Sorry bro, haven't had much experience with Sig's so I can't give much advice. What I have always heard is nothing but good. I inquired about a Sig Sauer assault rifle a while back and everyone's response was, "Dude, its a Sig... You know it's good" Other than that, I can only second what Alx said.

I have one, and a P220. I love them both, great shooting guns. A lot of people have complained recently about the quality of Sig pistols declining a bit. I haven't experienced it though.

The reason I ask the question is because Sig, which is arguably one of the best handguns made does not have a safety and it is used by law enforcement agencies around the globe.

I have two and would put them up against any. There are probably just as many pistols without safeties as there are without.

A safety is a negative for LE and Military.

Read 1st and last pages, but didn't see it mentioned WHAT the gun is to be used for. What is the intended purpose of this gun?

I got nothing against guns without safeties. I just prefer to have a safety on mine. They look like nice guns though.

What's the word on these guns? Saw the advertisement today as well, and it piqued my interest.

I've been a pistol guy for the past 20 yrs... I've owned at least 120 handguns during this time, so needless to say I've tried pretty much everything out there in the $250(ruger p89) to the $5000(Roger Precision 1911) range...

The safety argument is ridiculous, it's a personal preference with no right or wrong answer. My belief is I don't like them. When time counts in a life or death situation, I want to be able to draw and shoot, not worry about disengaging a safety.

I recommend 9mm or 45ACP. 9mm b/c its the cheapest and the guns can hold a lot of beans. 45ACP b/c the recoil impulse isn't as snappy as a 40SW and most people shoot them very well.

I would rank combat handguns as follows:
Glocks in 9mm(17,19, 26, 34)
S&W MP in 45
HK (HK45C & P30 9mm)
Only German made Sigs(P226), the USA made ones have QC issues

I love 1911s, but I did not include them b/c their price range is wide and it's a gun that needs more attention then the plastics. My favorite production 1911 is the Springfield TRP.
Semi custom: Wilson Combat.

If you are not a handgun shooter, buy a Tarus 22 revolver with a 6" bbl. Learn to shoot with a low cost 22 then decide where to go from there.

I agree. I just have an issue when they rely upon a safety for gun safety. That's where stupid starts.

I like to just randomly pull on the trigger. Hey, I have an opening for dove season if you're interested. My shotguns all have safeties.
