My soft 30 came in today. What a steal for $90

After being iced down since 4:30 yesterday in my garage, this is what I have this morning. A solid ring around the drain plug of condensation. You can see nothing has dripped yet but a couple drops have started to form. The actual plug itself also is sweating. I left it alone and will recheck when I get home this afternoon.
Anyone else have this going on? If its not actually leaking I dont think this is a huge issue.
ETA: RTIC 45

Well the good news is the rubber plug has stopped all leaks. The bad news is I am disappointed in the performance of the RTIC. My real world test of RTIC is failing.
The two bags of ice with two cases of beer filled the 65 cooler 75%. The ice wont make it to the 4 full day mark in 70 degree weather. Actually, the beer was probably undrinkable temp at the 80hr mark. My Igloo has same performance in 90 degree temps for 1/3 of the price of the RTIC on sale.

I filled my 45 up with ice and beers Sunday at about 3pm and threw it in the cab of my truck. As of Tuesday at 5 when I got home from work, there was still a good amount of ice, there was minor condensation around the plug, but no big deal. The carpet in the truck wasn't wet at all. This is a quality product in my opinion.

That's interesting. I've watched youtube clips of people testing them side by side yetties and they performed similarly. I'm probably going to do the ice test on mine starting this afternoon and see how it goes.

Im cool with some condensation as long as its does not actually leak. The actual box where you have product/ice is insulated. The drain plug, not so much. Its a simple piece of plastic. Its easy to see why the condensation is forming at this spot.
The ice this morning looked like it was fresh out the freezer.

that's because these things will not perform their advertised ability on a consistent basis, and it's fine. anyone that buys it expecting to be perfect needs to take a step back and realize it's an ice chest.

These damn 30 soft pak smell terrible on the inside. Wtf
Posted on 2/8/17 at 9:37 am to donRANDOMnumbers
Yea I don't expect it to go 7 days, but I don't need it too. If I can get 3-4 days I'm good. Only other "premium" ice chest I have is the yetti soft, it was a bonus at work. I can stretch 3 days at the beach with it with 2 bags of ice, probably could go 4 but my wife struggles keeping it zipped
. It's just a pain to load and get ice in. If I can get the same performance out of this 45 it will be worth every penny.

Thanks for the heads up. We are having a highschool graduation party for my son and his friends and these cups are going to make great party gifts.

Baws, my 20 came in and the handle seems a bit weak. It doesn't lock in place well at the top. This typical for it to be pretty loose, or should it be a tight fit?

Mine isn't real tight either, but it stays up fine. It's not actually touching on one side. Also, the grip on the handle was loose and slid around. I put a little electrical tape on the handle and slid it back over - perfect.

Ha. Yep. Mine came in today and smelled pretty strong. Thing is much bigger than I expected as well.

What are y'all expecting from the new designs? Debating on returning mine to wait on the new one.
Posted on 2/8/17 at 11:37 pm to Jj283
The smell goes away, give it a good wipedown with a dish soap rag, rinse and leave it outside for a while.

I got a 45 but I think I need the 65 as well. The 65's are back in stock but at $200. I'm going to wait to see the new design. I am a little worried about the two drains, since a lot of people are having problems with their one drain.

Meh, at this point I dont think I would sweat it. After mine sat in the garage full of ice all day yesterday the drain plug looked exactly like it did that morning when I posted the pic. Just a ring of condensation and no drippage.
