This SOB has a serious vacuum seal though and I often have to crack open the drain plug to open the lid.

Yep. I'm always having to tell people to crack the plug, then the lid will open.

Any you baws have the SoftPak coolers? I went a few pages back and didn't see anything. Thinking of picking up a SoftPak 30 but seeing mixed reviews on Amazon.

I like mine. It's great for a day trip. Don't expect it to hold ice for 3 days in the summertime though. After all it is a soft pack. I will say it's incredibly durable. When I crashed and burned in Buffalo river high water, it was drug all along the rocky bottom and smashed against rocks, came out looking brand new.

I recommend buying some Cooler Shocks to go with it.

Nice! I'm not expecting multi day ice from a soft cooler.

Anybody have this new ice chest from Igloo? Saw it at Academy today and it seemed really well built with a lot of nice added features. Has some pretty good reviews too.

I've bought a few of them for door prizes for golf tournaments & crawfish boils for work.

Returned my white 65 today, along with a jump drive containing a video of the lid sweating that they asked me to include.

It arrived on June 30, tried it out for the first time on July 3 - only put in one bag of ice and a few drinks though so wasn't too disappointed when all the ice had melted the next day. Tried again a few more times over the next week but the true test was taking it out on the boat - full of ice and majority of items were pre-cooled. 100% of the ice had melted the next morning, while my buddy's Yeti was still holding ice. Yes, the water was cold but I didn't pay for a cold water chest...

Contacted customer service because we're still in the 30 day return period. They suggested I test it by filling it with ice, keeping it in my house with a temp of less than 80 degrees, opening it for 30 seconds each day for 5 days to check the ice. Again, I don't need an ice chest to keep ice in my home under ideal conditions, I need one I can actually use. When I mentioned the lid was sweating on top, customer service said that sounds like a defect and to ship it back.

They are supposed to ship me a replacement but said it would be 30 days because they are out of stock again. I'll give it one more shot but I'm pretty close to just springing for the difference and getting the Yeti.
