Shooting a drone down is a violation of federal law. Unfortunately there is no tresspassing in the air above your land. I think they should revisit this now that there are drones everywhere, but wth do I know.

Dumbass, I know this is difficult for some rednecks to understand, but we don’t own the air space above our property.
You’re a real Internet gangster aren’t you?
LMAO!

I know Louisiana is different but they are probably still out there creeping.
I just assume it’s the government 95% of the time at this point. I wonder how many times they have watched me timber tug.

Thanks for the undeserved epithets…says alot about your character.
It’s the government’s role to PROTECT property rights not infringe upon them…I guess “dumbass…redneck…internet gangsters” like myself who served this country in multiple combat theaters have to remind internet Nancy’s like you of same.

Can call me a redneck, coonass or a gangster but if I felt a drone was deliberately scaring deer or trying to ruin my hunting experience then I’m shooting at it…..period.
In no way shape or form flying a drone and videoing over anyone’s property should be legal.

First off, I also served.
Secondly, you deserve every epithet you received.
You’re obviously ignorant of the law.
I’m simply trying to save folks from having to go through a legal process where they will lose 100% of the time.
If you were as smart as you believe yourself to be, you would have simply suggested the OP contact the FAA and file a complaint.
If the drone operator isn’t licensed or if the drone isn’t registered correctly, the owner/operator would be fined and possibly lose his license.
But no, you wanted to show everyone you were a tough guy.
Don’t start crying because I called you on your BS

Brother, I’m not trying to sway you otherwise. Simply telling you it’s a Federal law that you can’t shoot a drone down.
Contact the FAA and let them handle it. It’s what they do.

interesting take. How do you feel about navigable water access? Because it’s the same thing
you don’t own the water nor do you own the air. You own the land. You may not own the minerals below the land depending on your title. Property lines are 2 dimensional in a 3 dimensional world. But I do agree that nuisance use should be treated differently…defining nuisance must be addressed

You must have been a POG/REMF who dutifully reported to the 1stSgt you were AWOL at mandatory clue issue.
Louisiana just voted to allow LEO to take these things out of the sky…states rights trump federal laws on property rights not related to interstate trade…and I’m going to affect a citizen’s arrest on these twirly birds with my Benelli.

my neighbors got into para-kiting a couple years ago. They have a big hay field they’ve converted into a take-off and landing area complete with ramp, runway and windsock LOL. Anyway they fly over my place all the time, we look and wave and laugh about it because there’s a better than average chance one of us will be naked in the yard or on the deck.
I can’t shoot them down though

Damned guy, simply Google…is it legal for me to shoot down a drone?
I’m obviously wasting my time here. Maybe you’ll believe what Google tells you.
Besides, if you’re hunting and a drone flies over you, it’s a 90% chance it’s the LDWF. So yea, go ahead and shoot it down.
They’ll make your arse famous.

You mean I don’t own the airspace above me?
I can’t shoot an rpg at a cropduster if it flies over my land?

Just because he has license doesn't mean he follows the law. You have a drivers license. You follow all speed limit laws?

100% true.
That’s why I suggested your best course of action is to video the drone if possible and then contact the FAA
Believe me when I tell you, their investigators have too much time on their hands and will happily open a case. If the pilot hasn’t filed a flight plan (neighborhoods, factories, airports, in towns and cities) they’ll fine him and possibly take his license.

You’re spineless.
Louisiana Revised Statutes Tit. 14, § 63. Criminal trespass
If you’re flying a drone on my property you definitely don’t have Line of Sight and I’m bringing it down like a flock of pterodactyls. If you’re LDWF, I’ll see you in court.
