I've always wanted a Marlin JM stamped 1894 Cowboy in .44mag, longer hexagonal barrel w/ peep sights.
I have the 1893 chambered in .32 special. Manufactured in 1904 I think and it is the takedown version.

Colt Combat Commander 1911 in 9 mm.
Was on Gunbroker. Serial number, surprised it was visible, was 5 away from one I had and bought new in late 70's. Gun very rough. Got outbid last few seconds. Under $500.00.
Kick myself.

Had bought 2 Colt Pythons (1978), one 6” Blue and a 4” Nickel.
Sold them in 1981 for what I paid for them.
Hindsight is 20/20

Through the years, I've kicked myself over two missed guns.
1. Early 1990's I went to a gun show in Shreveport. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but came across a Remington Model 700 chambered in 222 Remington w/ a nice wooden stock, long, bull barrel, 12X Leupold scope in nice rings for $450. It didn't really register w/ me at first since I wasn't really looking for a gun, much less a gun like that.
2. In the mid 90's I really wanted a bolt action rifle in 284 Winchester. Browning was the only company making them. After not being able to find one (they only made a production run once a year), I got frustrated and gave up. After that, whenever I went to a gun store and salesman wouldn't leave me alone, I'd get him off my back by asking him, "Do you have a Browning X Bolt in 284 Winchester?" Fast forward a few years later when I went on a business trip w/ a colleague to the DFW area. Since we both had young children, before returning home, we stopped at a mall to buy presents. Back then malls frequently had an Oshman's store. Oshman's was a sporting goods store w/ lots of hunting and fishing equipment. I'm looking around and when the salesman asks if he can help me I say, "Yes, Do you have a Browning X Bolt in 284 Win?" Imagine my surprise when he said, "Yes." I thought about it long and hard, but by then I'd started transitioning to hunting w/ handguns and didn't want the rifle so bad. Nevertheless, I did buy an XP-100 handgun in 284 Win 7-8 years ago.

Anyone else regret not taking a gun home?
I only have 1 gun related regret. When I was probably 5-6, my dad bought my brothers and me shotguns for Christmas. Mossberg 500’s. They got 20 gauges, I got a 410. When I was 16, my dumbass sold that gun for $100. Couldn’t tell you what I even wanted the money for. Speakers in my car maybe. Maybe another gun that I ended up selling.
It was the only gun my dad ever bought for me. I’ve regretted that for years, but even more now that he’s gone. I could probably find that gun very easily, but the guy I sold it to, bought it for his daughter. Even if I could buy it, I feel like that regret would just transfer to someone else.

1999, Paris Flea Market, a pristine STG 44, that had the barrel plugged, so it was considered “deactivated”. All matching serial numbers. Guy wanted equivalent to 1000 USD. Guy would have shipped it to me for @$50.
My wife talked me out of it.

1st gen Tikka T3s were going for $500 to $550 on Europtic one afternoon a few yrs ago. My regret is that I just only bought one that day instead of four

.45 Colt Mountain Gun in the 90s. I could have bought it but I didn't think I needed it. As I look back on how I've actually used handguns since that time, I could have done all of it with that gun.

I just bought a new 1894 Marlin in 44 magnum tonight. It’s a beautiful gun and I can’t wait to shoot it. Threaded barrel too.

A guy from Metarie at a gun show recently in Pensacola had a Sons of Liberty MK1 SBR he wanted to trade for my M14 National Match Quantico Team rifle. I didn't do and instantly regretted it. I called the guy today to see if he still had it and I'm driving over today. He will have to ship it to my FFL but I'm good with that. Glad he still had it. It's the hard coat anodized devgru version so it's already hard to find to begin with.
