The lake commission or TDWF should be raising hell about that.

They are getting paid well to allow it.

Plus, legally they are not breaking any laws im pretty sure. What is the creel limit in Texas? I do agree with you that its not a great thing for the fishery.

They always post a 100% or close to that "release alive" rate but I know for fact that thats not the survival rate.

Fortunately, the lakes rebound and are not being hurt by tournaments in general. Not as we can see

No that is correct. It is one thing that I do not like about this style of event. Same at Guntersville when they took them to Birmingham.

I am not interested in weigh ins at all. There are some shows I get on Direct that are 90% weigh in coverage. I just don't get the appeal.

I'd like to see Matt Arey or Scott Martin take it down.

Man some of those old pictures make folks cringe now. I remember seeing a picture at Wingats Lodge on Seminole of Jack and two other guys with 20, monster 8-10 pound fish nailed to a board for a picture.

Yeah... I fell down a rabbit hole of 1971 BassMasters Classic.

Pretty interesting photos... one impressive 1971 Camel Toe.

But seriously, there were some impressive stringers of dead fish from the 70's.

We don't have anything going on tomorrow so my kid and I are going to check out the Expo and see if we can get some free stuff.

It's about an hour from our house

I typically do a booth at the Expo show but did not this year. Just had too much going on...

I started going to WIngates in the late 80's. I remember Jack giving us fishing advice when we got there. We always either stayed in one of their cabins or in a tent on one of their campsites. He was a character.

First day I stayed there, I had a small issue with my old 1980 model Evinrude 150. I asked at the lodge if they had a mechanic that could look at it and they said he was on the porch. Dude was up there shelling peas. He agreed to work on my engine if I would shell peas for him until he got finished so his wife would not get mad at him, No shite

He fixed my engine in about 20 mins. Simple lever adjustment on the throttle. I still remember looking in the water in the canal they were in and thinking, I can just catch them right here. LOL

Ahhh the good ol days!!!

And you are absolutely right about Seminole. First time I fished it with my Pop in HS I thought I had died and gone to bass heaven. There just HAD to be a 7 lber under every grass mat and by every standing tree, right?

Standings after 1st day. McKinney leading but has some dogs on his arse. Once he lost his FFS, he looked lost AF.

He busted them early though. Sorry for the shite format on the standings.

They will cut to the top 10 after tomorrow. Guys need to catch them. Wind is going to blow 20 most of the day

Should be fun

Working on some baits this morning while watching. Got a couple Louisiana orders yesterday. If they were from you guys, I appreciate it and will ship them out on Monday.

Heading home later and going to sear some mangrove snapper fillets I caught last weekend. Looking forward to them. My favorite fish to eat.
