Lake D’Arbonne

I grew up fishing D’arbonne, we have had a camp there since I was a kid.

Once it gets hot May or so bass fishing it tough, we did our damage at night.

There was a recent tournament where a guy had 5 weighing 34 lbs though.

I’m pretty sure he was live scoping deep water

Wow we had a camp on Claiborne for 30 years or so. I hated to sell it but no way to keep it up so far away

Nice, whereabouts?

My family had a place across the lake from the Spillway from the time they built the lake til a few years ago. One of those complete BS situations where my parents (who footed the bill for absolutely everything there and were responsible for all upkeep) sold it right out from under me without even asking my permission. You wanna talk about selfish.

Random aside, I sat next to an elderly gentleman on a plane a while back who was one of the engineers when they built the lake/spillway. Super interesting conversation.

Cotile has been awesome recently

I know it was terrible in the 90s/early 2000s, but recently they have been catching great fish out there

Way up the Little D'arbonne feeder creek to Reddens

You used to be able to fish up there all day and maybe see 1-2 boats in 8 hours.

Website looks like one that generates junky articles for clickbait. Was probably written in large part by Ai.

Anacoco is pretty, but it was always a better catfish lake than bass. The bass fishing was always better on Vernon Lake.

Anacoco Lake is a giant garhole

No one fishes that place with a rod and reel

Yo-yos and trotlines maybe

Cheniere Lake has been drained for years working on the dam and just recently got refilled and restocked

It’s not gonna be Bussey Brake but it’s gonna be real good in a couple years if the salvinia doesn’t take it over again which is almost likely. Those cypress lakes are hard to get salvinia out of

That lake is frustrating to figure out
