My dad had a Browning Auto 22 that I got from him. He bought it not too long before he died so not like there was a lot of history and memories but I love the gun.
For my son and daughter, I have built a couple of guns that I think they will have for a long time.
2011 in 9mm
6.5 cm bolt actions (one is a Rem 700 action that's getting blue printed and timed right now and a bighorn origin action)
But I have a Colt Diamondback in .22 that I think they will have for long time. I've never shot it.
Also have a couple of Sig P226 that were made in West Germany.

PowPow's 1937 Browning A5. There are others but it's the most important
My cousin sent my son a Savage Model 520, which was a contract-made Browning A5 used during WW2 to train gun crews on USAAF bombers. "US GOVERNMENT PROPERTY" is stamped on the forearm and a flaming fireball and USAAF logo are stamped on the barrel. My son has even killed a few ducks with this guns and well as a bunch of skeet. It's fun to shoot if you don't mind a little kick.

I have a couple that my sons have already laid claim to.
My dads old Model 94 that he had redone not long before he passed away. I also cherish my Browning A-bolt that my wife gave me on our 1st anniversary. I have it with me right now in the stand.

I have two. My paternal “granddaddy’s” Remington 1100 12 ga, manufactured in 1979.
My maternal “paw-paw’s” Browning Safari 30-06 manufactured in 1962.
My dad also inherited his father in law’s (my paw-paw’s) Belgian Sweet 16 (1957). It will be mine one day, but I hope I have to wait a really long time to get it.

Will be passing all of them down to my two kids who both hunt and shoot. They have staked claim to all of them already and each new purchase they get dibs on it as soon as I get it.

I don't have a son, only a daughter. Patiently waiting for her to give me a grandson God willing.

2 Winchester Model 12 16gauges's from the 1930's.
One was my grandfathers gun that he passed on to my dad and my dad passed it on to me when we began rabbit hunting for the first time.
The other one was my late great-uncle's and as he had no children he left it to my dad and my pops gave it to me.

Browning citori over and under from my dad.
My brother gets the old browning sweet 16 from his great grandfather. He's in Canada and will need to fill out paperwork to get it, but when pop passes I'll keep it and treat it like a queen until it can rightfully get to my brother.
Pump 20 gauge 870 my mom had on layaway for my dad. I did a swap with a .308 bolt gun to my uncle to get it back.

Remington Woodsmaster 740 30-06 from 1958 that my maternal grandfather killed several things with including a bear. I put a new scope on it and got my first deer with it last year. I'll probably hunt with it this year before getting a newer one and storing it for occasional use.

I have 4 Browning auto 5's with very low serial numbers (first 4 years of production)..
I have my Grandfather's 16 ga A-5 that I've tracked down to a 1946 production date. It will stay in the family. There's also a pistol that's been passed down the the eldest son since the Civil War when my great great grandfather bought it for my great great grandmother. My Father still has that one in his possession. I don't know a lot about the make or model of the gun, however.
I also have a Remington 1100 20 ga that was a present from father as my first "real" hunting shotgun in 1981 - that will also stay in the family.

1. My dad's Remington Model 24 in 22 short that he bought new as a kid for $25. He shot the hell out of it before it was given to me. At that time it was on it's 7th barrel and 4th action. I kept up the tradition and shot the hell out of it too. Over the years I found duplicates in order to be able to share one with each of the grandsons.
2. My grandad's open hammer wards double barrel 12 ga. When I was a kid I proof tested it my shooting 3" magnum heavy loads out of those 2 1/2" chambers on a regular basis.
3. The Remington Model 29 pump that my dad gave me in order to get me to quit shooting grandad's double with those "HOT" handloads of mine.
I have been handing out a few items in the past but when my time comes there will have to be a drawing of straws for the bulk of the "collection".

My great-great-grandfather's 1922 model year Browning A5 12 gauge. I inherited it this year. There isn't enough money in the world to pry it from me.
