I really don’t think drugs are worth putting troops’ lives on the line while world peace is barely hanging on.
I see you're one of the few fortunate people who haven't seen lives destroyed and ended by illegal narcotics and fentanyl.

did you forget about the War on Drugs? if you're mean fentanyl i dont think Venezuela is a major player there

I know that Venezuela's neighbor Guyana has huge offshore oil and gas fields. I also know that Venezuela claims most of Guyana based on some 19th century claims. Could it be that we've picked up some Venezuelan Intel and this troop movement is a message to Venezuelan territorial ambitions?

If we're going to expend American resources cleaning up our hemisphere, I suggest we start with the closest problem, Cuba.

It's more than just drugs. As the clip in the OP shows, they have moslim terrorists training there. The Chinese are there too. It's fighting base point for our enemy. This has been known for years, so nothing new. This is set up directly across the GOA so the attacks will come directly to gulf states.
This threat needs to be stopped before it can't be.

I'd much rather the US taking action in iur hemisphere instead of in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Ukraine, etc.

The attacks on the purported drug boats were to create some type of provocation to justify intervention IMO. I hope people don't buy the "war on narco terror" nonsense. Tulsi made her mark objecting to regime change operations. I wonder what she is thinking.

I saw pics where they had Venezuelan tanks ready to "invade" Guyana. It was the end of the road with about 150 miles of Amazon Rainforest in front of them.
The only way to get to Georgetown in Guyana from the Venezuelan coast. Take a road 12 hours south, mostly through Brazil, cross over and take another dirt road 13 hours north.
Soon after the pic was taken Brazil planted forces to the north and said "bring it".
We also have a couple of US warships in our waters keeping an eye on the little shat in caracas.

Sorry but it is. Too many kids and young people are dying from poison brought in from VZ. If I had the opportunity to serve and be there to remove that threat, I would be good with that. I think it is beyond a worthy cause.

They asked the prime minister of Trinidad what she thought about killing the drug folks, she said "kill them violently". She then did a photo op with Rubio and he lifted sanctions on a gas field halfway between us and venezuela

Who knew that The War on Drugs 2.0(tm) new DLC, "Regime Change" would come out before GTA 6?
Amazing!
I'd buy it.
In a heartbeat.
That said there are no good modern war strategy games.

When have I said I'm against strategic war? Granted I don't like, but never against it. We wouldn't be in this situation if Obama/Democrats/ weak knee'd RINOs wouldn't have supported the change 25 or so years ago. They knew they were supporting a far left Castro acolyte in Chavez.
Keep yourself safe up in Alaska, while you don't have to worry about cleaning up after decades of anti-American decisions made by our own govt.
