What I’d like is some more clarity on what this lot of kids is.
Let’s say it’s 145,000 kids who were abducted by cartel members back in Mexico and used as leverage when hopping Biden’s boarder, then left to fend for themselves. Well my God, that would be a global story and we’d hopefully have our politicians responsible for it rotting in tiny rooms for the rest of their lives.
That’s a huge number of missing kids.
ETA: Listened. Were these kids in foster care? I think he said something like “they were released into unvetted care” or something. What does this mean?

ETA 2: It sounds like it’s kids released to adult sponsors but follow-ups weren’t conducted. If that happened that sounds bad. And it’s easy to see how tons of terrible outcomes could come from it.

This has been the known story for a long time.

I have to be a little skeptical of this claim. Where are all of these found kids? What happens to them next? They aren't citizens, but its hardly their fault if they were trafficked into the states as minors.

The term 'missing children' has been a number tied to unaccompanied minors that crossed at the border and were given asylum or immigration dates that never reappeared after being turned over to a sponsor.
The large number from the previous admin is because the verification process was lessened to who they were turned over to.
The 'children in cages' is what previous administrations have done to verify minors were with parents/guardians before release and/or the sponsor for those unaccompanied. The last admin pushed more lax standards for turning these children over to sponsors because of the 'cages' narrative which made it harder to trace their whereabouts. Tracing their whereabouts is the only way the DHS can insure the children's safety and they are going through the immigration process.
The 145k 'found' means there are still 155k minors out there that in part or in whole are being trafficked. It's despicable that narratives are pushed like the 'cages' without context as to why it occurs so that lawmakers can get public support to lessen restrictions on stopping this sick practice. The Epstein files being released show this narrative was 100% pushed to allow more access, and dolts across the country bought it hook-line-and-sinker giving sickos unfettered access to these children.
