This list may be completely backwards. I used to drive from BR to Ruston on a Friday evening passing by shacks in the middle of cotton fields between rayville and ferriday. You would assume the people that lived there would be miserable, but a lot of times there would be 10 or more people outside these shacks bbqing, tossing a football, kids chasing each other, etc. They couldn’t have been enjoying life anymore. LA may be a poor state, but the people are pretty happy. AR and TN are the same way.

Wow...usually these BS articles at least have enough decency to link the original study/data upon which the rankings are based, so readers can see the methodology themselves and decide how much stock to put in the findings.

The author of this list likely made determinations based on number of Starbucks per square mile or number of cubicle jobs per capita. Not interested in all that.
