OP, too confusing. I read your posted and downvoted even though Trump is the only nominee worth considering.

DeSantis struggled to beat Gillum.

He said a lot of good things but he was atrocious at accomplishing anything of merit
Besides a solid tax cut, an acceleration in the economy, actual wage growth, 7 million off of food stamps, rwcord low minority unemployment, a reduction in illegal border crossings, killing Suliemani, effectively crushing ISIS and making the US a net exporter of oil in 2020 for probably the first time in decades, you're correct, he didn't accomplish anything.

Interesting. I said last week that I thought the board is 60% Trump, but it looks to be the other way.

OP confused the frick out of everyone. I downvoted at the general premise that anyone vs Trump = fail.

I think DeSantis can win, but Trump is needed in the white house. He knows exactly where to start firing and has an idea who his enemies are.

I learned my lesson with politicians long ago, unlike some of you.

Trump.

You think that will matter? The narrative that will be pushed will be the only thing that does

Stop with the Big Ron talk. I would very much like to keep him as my guv 4 more years.

Don 4
Big Ron 8

Sounds like a plan to me.

And this is how you handle the press

Nothing personal against Trump, just think DeSantis is the person we need as President right now.

If Desantis runs Trump should bow out and endorse him. The media and dimocrats will give trump another 4 years of hell and especially if he don't have both the house and Senate it will be a repeat of his first term.

I voted DeSantis, but hesitantly. There is a part of me that wants to see the melting a Trump v 2.0 would create. I need to know how RD feels about dismantling the deep state apparatus

I think Ron will be more effective than Don in that regard. Remember, when all is said and done, Trump is a deal maker. I think Big Ron will be more likely to stand on principle.

With the current clusterfrick, I am embarrassed to admit I voted for Biden, even more so that I voted for Hillary in 2016. The election of 2016 was my first participation in a presidential election. I don't see myself ever voting democrat again. I consider myself an independent until a better option is available other than republican or libertarian.

In regards to the topic; voters in 20-50 range will be drawn to DeSantis, the 50+ will lean towards Trump.

I am hoping Desantis, but if Trump is the nominee, I will vote for him as many times as I can.

Exactly. We would get 12 awesome years instead of 8 if we go Trump/DeSantis.

While I don’t think either is really better than the other (they’re both great), I think this country needs to right the wrong of the 2020 election. If that means burning the whole thing down with a Trump run, I’m all for it. Desantis will NOT be a DC cleaner and I don’t really him doing anything but fighting prog change, and you get that with Trump as well

I have designs on moving to FLA soon. So leave Big Ron to run things there please.

And hand the WH over to the Dems in 2024? Frick that. Ron can take his approach in Florida nation-wide. He can be the kingmaker in future FLA elections.

quote:

You have a lot of leftist on here that's going to do anything but Trump.

Leftists want Trump to run again because they know he has a 50/50 shot of losing because of his limitations electorally. Namely, the suburban voters he has alienated and will never be able to win back. Over 5 million voters in both 2016 and 2020 voted for at least 1 down-ballot Republican but didn't vote for Trump. In both elections he underperformed down-ballot R's in the vast majority of suburban counties.

The Lincoln Project was BEGGING Trump to run again over the summer after the poll at the Western Conservative Summit showed DeSantis ahead. They know DeSantis is more viable and want Trump, who has more limitations, to take him out. CNN said that DeSantis was "worse than Trump" for the same reason. Although not naming him, Pelosi described a certain someone (DeSantis) would be scarier than Trump. The Lincoln Project was also doing everything in their power to encourage Trump to step foot in VA because they knew that the second he did, all of the suburban wine moms that were undecided or thinking about voting Youngkin would get angry and vote for Terry McWoke.

He had his chance and he blew it. He let Fauci's policies dictate the mood of the country, never fired him, and couldn't even stay in the WH against Biden. Pathetic. Time to move on. He'll also be old as frick (78) in 2024.
