Is it fracking or global warming causing this?

Once the big one hits in Oregon, it’s gonna be bad for Oregon, California, and maybe Japan (tsunami).

I don't recall it being bad for Oregon, WA or CA when the big one hit Fukushima.

That’s because it wasn’t. My MIL did find a Japanese lantern that washed ashore though.

There is very little understanding of tsunamis. It is little better than guesswork at this point.

Stuff is constantly floating up on West coast beaches. I was on a trip as a kid and we found a barnacle encrusted Japanese glass ball used to keep their fishing nets afloat. This was back in the 70's. Those aren't all that uncommon.

Read an article the other day that said several oarfish have washed up on the Cali beaches in the past few months. The Japanese view dead oarfish washing ashore as a sign that a large earthquake is incoming. Dozens washed up on Japan's beaches the months leading up to the 2011 quake. They've been over there for centuries longer than we've been over here so they would know.

Google it and there's lots of articles on the internet about the phenomenon

I fell into an internet wormhole reading about it a week or so ago and then someone at work told me a big quake hit off the coast of Cali. Naturally, I came here to TD to read up on it.

Right. But it really wasn’t that bad. We were around a max of 6 - 7 ft and it was far less than that in most areas.
