That’s just nonsense. Whatever side of center a person falls, most have headed to the edge. The middle is either very small or completely non vocal.

Everyone immediately jumps on the OP as a soy boy lib. Maybe he just doesn’t want to talk politics ALL THE TIME with his wife.

When I want to talk politics I Wade into the Poli Board. Get called names and leave.

Well it is hard not to be political these days when there is fear about your well-being economically due to policy decisions and forced to publicly support the wacko zeitgeist or else.

but it doesn’t have to be brought up constantly- especially when you are on the same side as the person that repeatedly brings politics up

To be serious for a second, I know how annoying it is to have someone talk about politics all the time. There are definitely more important things and enjoyable things than political bullshite, but political shite is being forced into our every day lives more and more. But as bad as the super mainstream conservatives are, the left is SO much worse.

A lot of us were in the center but the left moved SO far left, militantly and violently. It’s an ideological contagion and has rotted some peoples brains to the point that they are now sacrificing their kids to the progressive alter.

That’s was the hard line for me. I’m done trying to make amends when people have gone that far.

You are supposed to protect your kids from this shite, not foist it upon them and then go along when they get the mental infection from it.

I mean we are going through high gas prices, inflation, fricked housing and auto market, supply chain issues.

How the frick can you not? It affects all of us daily. So did covid. There are real questions and decisions needed to be made by families and by businesses because of this. People lost their jobs, kids have been held back developmentally.

I lived in New Orleans with vaccine mandates for 5 and up. Murder is up 83%, the roads are crumbling. It wasn’t avoidable to see it every day, the failure of government.

If the railroad actually went on strike you wouldn’t be able to hide and say, please don’t talk politics.

And talking about doing fun things and forgetting about it. Well I used to go to saints and lsu games and then they started asking for papers. And players were protesting by kneeling. Even the shite I used to do all the time was made political.

I'm pretty far on the right and I can positively say that more than a few people have gone further right. Not whacko territory, just admitting to generally conservative values now.

What I am seeing more and more of is intolerance on both sides and a certain mean spirited attitude that reflects what the various media outlets are putting out, both sides. The real irony is many of those at the various outlets are less invested than the people mimicking them. The fight and call each other names on TV then go out for a drink or dinner. Sometimes you get the James Carville/Mary Madeline scenarios.

More people need to recognize the reason we often have differences is because we don't start our reasoning from the same set of base beliefs or assumptions. Arguing a point when we can't even agree on the base assumptions is pointless.

My buddy used to think I was the kooky conspiracy guy. The other day, he said he is starting to think I'm right on a lot of my rhetoric. So there's that.

Seeing a whole of posts that can be broken down to fussing at the OP because some
Extreme from the other side is worse without, you know, realizing that you don’t HAVE to be either god damned one.

Also seeing a bunch of, “but look at what they did!” That’s pretty much what his wife is doing, finding ways to relate everything to some political talking point about how bad the other side is.

It’s exhausting to deal with people like that. It’s comparable to people constantly telling you about their fantasy football league and how much they dominate because everyone else is stupid.

I’ve been working in political offices for government officials for nearly 20 years. Both sides have good people and both sides have terrible people. The good ones are scared to piss off the terrible ones. The number one priority of nearly every official I’ve spoken with, overheard, etc. is mostly trying to figure out the best way to keep or increase their position of power.

You really think the right has moved farther than the left? Even the Q whackos aren’t talking about mutilating kids because they played with dolls or liked trucks. The whackos on the right want people to not kill babies, which, whatever.

The left either wants to cut their Weiner off or frick them it seems.

The difference is that I can get along with someone that’s super against abortion.

I can’t get along with people that think it’s okay to frick up kids heads with this gender bender bullshite.

You may laugh but not many people have fallen towards total anarchy.

Now the left, they are open communists.

But I understand if you don’t know the difference between far right ideology and leftists in this country that support they are leftist and for communism.

Having an American flag is seen as extremism by them. I have an American flag, doesn’t mean I want to do away with our federal government.

I find that people who get too invested in politics become boring after a while. Including myself. The Poli Board is a no go for me now because it got me so wound up and miserable.
