I’d imagine self immolation is probably a highly successful but also highly inefficient way to kill oneself. Just pouring an accelerant on and lighting it off in open air isn’t going to produce and contain enough heat to cause a quick death. It will, however, destroy enough skin to make death certain and the inhaled flames will damage the lungs. Death will come when he either succumbs to the complications from the lack of protection the skin would otherwise provide or he drowns in his own fluids.
