You ascribe some mythical intellect behind Trump's thinking. I am sure he has a reason but it's just shooting from the hip.
This is the man who would have the "best" and yet we have seen anything but the "best" in his appointments. The new guy isn't a Trump guy, he's a Hannity guy. Sean Hannity the most dense commentator in media today.
Trump's way of surviving is to bully his way through anything. He expects to rule not govern. frick that shite.
He doesn't give a flying rat's arse about democracy or the people. So ironic that he road a populist message while he is the farthest thing from being a man of the people.
He is in over his head.

This might be it however I have been sucked into the liberal point of view of Trump actions (never agreed totally, just thought that the lib POV is plausible) and the lib POV has been wrong every time.

Trump asking if he can pardon himself suggests he will not be there at the 2020 swearing in.
Of course a lot of people will have to take chances.

A man who is thus far unable to get a single piece of major legislation through Congress is the mastermind of an ingenious behind the scenes plan that will soon shock the world. Seems reasonable.
Maybe if he'd spend a little more time on his actual agenda and less time playing Machiavelli he'd be further along on health care and tax reform by now.
