Nice to see these families monetizing the deaths of their children. I guess they want to dry their tears with $100s. Seems weird to me.

Appeals for sure. However, there is at least one article out there claiming he is worth 270 million. I can’t imagine that being true, but if it is he will certainly put something.
I think info came out during the trial that he made $800,000 in 1 day from merchandise sales.

As per co-counsel Bill Ogden, punitive damages are capped at $750k in this type of suit. The jury isn’t briefed on this, so the award was expected to be massive, but capped.
In Texas, there are statutory limits on punitive damages, with a per-defendant cap of two times the amount of economic damages, plus the amount of noneconomic damages found by the jury—the latter part not to exceed $750,000.

Those millions aren't going to bring those victims back. If I was in that situation then I would ignore someone like Alex Jones because no amount of money would ever ease the pain of losing a loved one. I would be a recluse and never attempt to talk with any of the media and give them the satisfaction of taking advantage of a tragedy.

Are the 4.5MM considered economic? Doubtful, right? So punitive will be capped at 750?

I wonder what his facial reaction was when he heard the number 45 million.

Was he there in court?

According to hank the punitive damages are capped. If that is true, I’m sure Jones knows that and just chuckled at the ridiculous number.

Probably not eco damages, no.

I’ve not seen the details on the award (useless press), but there are several defendants and multiple plaintiffs. The cap is “$750k per plaintiff per defendant.” The articles have not said how the puni award is divided among the plaintiffs and defendants.

So if, for example, there are three plaintiffs and two defendants, the puni recovery MIGHT theoretically be capped at 3 plaintiffs x 2 defendants x $750k … $4.5mm. We do not know at this point.

And we cannot forget the $4mm actual damages awarded yesterday.

I think two more cases in Texas and another in Connecticut. This award may get capped to double the compensatory award, but it definitely sets up a lot financial headaches for Jones.

He said thats not indicative and he is right, its like saying Floyd Mayweather made 90million in one day, he did but that doesnt mean he made that everyday for his entire career so he is worth a trillion.

And he didnt willfully and purposely try and hurt the parents, like the msm did to Trump, it truly is a double standard. And he is an opinion reporter, lawsuit is ignorant, but then its DC West, Travis county what did you expect.

Fine parents though, trying to cash in on dead kids, that karma will follow them regardless of whether they get a dime.

If some dumb frick in the media was mouthing off rediculous nnonsense, accusing me of faking my child's death I would want blood but I wouldn't want to cause my living family more pain. So I would probably settle for ruining that individual financially.
