Democrats are the most economically illiterate people ever.
Just a basic understanding of economics would tell you giving people more free money for food is going to cause more scarcity of food therefore prices of food will increase , ceteris paribus.

The 12 slice cheese I bought at walmart last week went from 2.22 to 3.74. And yes the prices on the other varieties of cheese went up in the exact fashion. Things are getting worse.

Taking advantage? The margins on groceries are extremely low. I can promise you Wal-Mart isn't gouging anybody on groceries. Their whole model is volume based and bringing in customers with lower pricing than the competitor.
