in practice, this will be a nightmare to implement and test with a quick turnaround

Interfaces need to be detailed, mapped, coded, and tested while file transfer protocols have to be rerouted

Maybe this has been in the works for a while and all this has been worked out,?

The MSM have a fresh Fla. headline this morning saying DOZENS of Fla. ICU's are at max capacity.

The numbers will be bullshite regardless as to where they come from. Not sure why anyone believes ANYTHING any state or federally funded organization puts out.

Better get those refrigerator trucks down there to handle all the dead bodies. And Trump should send some bulldozers and forklifts to help deal with the piles of dead bodies.

uniform data standards were a big part of the HIPAA final rules back the early 2000s. This should not be a difficult transition. Just FTP to a different address.

This is good. The middle man is being cut out. There is no reason for the middle man, the CDC.

Middle man between who? Trump wants to control the flow of data through the political office of the White House? Ridiculous. The data should be reported to more authorities, state and federal, not funneled through the Trump White House.

The data is coming in real time, straight from the hospitals through one data repository that cant be manipulated.

The CDC has roughly 11,000 employees and a budget of 11 billion dollars. Money well spent considering how great they have been, right?

As of Wednesday morning, a total of 54 hospitals no longer had open ICU beds for patients, according to a count by CNN

I got one to openly state that she thinks the Trump Administration will falsify numbers by requiring the reporting directly to HHS.

She doesn’t seem to understand that the CDC is under HHS already.

How many of those ICU beds were occupied by Covid patients and how many were occupied by non Covid patients?

You still have to map and apply needed transformation rules from the source system while coding the ETL.

It's not always a plug and play

I sincerely doubt that. Nothing I know of comes in TRULY at real time to HHS from provider or vendors unless it is coming through a portal. The accepted HHS definition of real time often means daily imports

It doesn't work that way usually - I'm curious how the contractual part is being worked out and who is being paid to make these changes
