When it says AG and senior Intel official informed WH counsel. The official is Comey.

At some point, putting this level of personal investment into someone's demise is really unhealthy.

Did the conversation occur before or after the sanctions were made public?

I have honestly never seen anything like this.
Democratic behavior at the moment makes me somewhat understand why rulers throughout history have tried to shut down the opposition

In this case they helped pull a pretty nasty weed out of the garden. That's healthy.
It was Yates that alerted Pence to the possibility that Flynn was not being honest. Flynn is also a Democrat.

Reading from different sources, but short version of it all is Flynn discussed easing Russian sanctions behind Obama's back, and later the Trump administration. At some point he directly denied it to Pence, and it somehow came out, he is forced to resign because this could technically nail him with a charge of treason.
He's resigning for withholding information about secret talks from the Trump administration, but somehow the Trump administration is getting the blame?

Based on what I have read, the intelligence community and FBI don't believe that Flynn broke a law. He did break protocol by speculating and discussing how the sanctions might be handled and later lied to Pence about the discussion.
This came after Flynn had angered the Trump team in September for making contact with various diplomats without informing them.
Pence was apparently open about his frustration over the lie (or withholding of info) as early as Feb 10....which explains why they are quick to tap a replacement. This staff change was apparently in the works for a couple of days.
And according to WaPo, they were actually monitoring Flynn's communication specifically, which is kind of weird if that's true. Other sources say they are monitoring Russian diplomats. If the former is correct, it does not look right having one administration spying on the other. Either way, Flynn was exposed as a problem.
There honestly does not appear to be anything here that could impact the Trump or Obama administration negatively other than the optics of Trump having to release someone from duty.....but I want to know more details about the conversation and the circumstances of the call monitoring.
Knowing what we know, I'm pleased that Flynn was shown the door.

I don't know. Most I've talked to are pissed that he lied to Pence.
That has been my constant stance since this broke.
I think the fact that the talked to the Russians - even about the sanctions - was no big deal.
But the fact that he lied to the WH about it is inexcusable. He had to clear this up as not having happened, or he had to go. No two ways about it.
Sorry to see it come to this, but no defense of him from me.

Did the same thing during his campaign. The end result, president. I'll take a guy any day who can fire a friend as opposed to one who won't (I think of Obama/Lynch here).

It's been shown that, at the least, The White House has known about this for a month.
