Perfect. We should leave NATO, take all of our equipment and technology, and forge a new alliance with European nations that actually respect us. France, Germany and Britain no longer fall into the latter.

I guess if we don’t need it right now we never will.

$980BB

We use—by several orders of magnitude—more of NATO’s infrastructure and common assets than any other member. We compensate the host nation and/or pay for our own upgrades and expansions to their facilities.

Who does that help?

We are not writing checks to fund their militaries. We are paying them to use their shite for our own benefit.

Is a subsidy a gift?

What percentage of the resources do we use as compared to the percentage of contributions?

The United States. When there is trouble in Africa or the Middle East at one of our embassies or installations or missions that needs support right then, I guess you’d rather wait days or weeks to get assets from stateside inside of having it already there in Italy, Germany, Turkey, Spain, or Greece.

when was the last time this happened? When Hillary was SOS? Also, is your argument it is frugal to spend nearly a trillion a year to protect embassies?

Do you not understand that we are functionally the only nation who actually uses these assets?

Your claim is that no other countries access the resources that NATO possesses? They are subsidizing us? Am I understanding your position correctly?

Yea I’m sure no support has been rendered to our guys stationed in Syria or Africa since 2013. No one has been airlifted to Landsdahl for treatment. No support strikes have been conducted out of Aviano or Incirlik.

Nope. We pay them to use their facilities and, to a certain extent, run them. It’s as simple as that.

$980BB

That is our own defense spending and Trump wants to increase it to $1.5 trillion.

We arent spending more than we would because we are in NATO.

But idc, leave NATO.. Hopefully will keep us out of Israels wars

I would prefer if we dont, and if we continue to make our EU partners increase their defense spending yearly.

What I think doesn't matter.

You're avoiding my question.

You've posted multiple links which you claim says the U.S. is paying money to 31 other NATO countries military.

I read your links multiple times and there is no mention of the U.S. funding other countries military.

I'd like to learn more about your claim. Stop obfuscating your attempts to justify your claim.

It matters to me buddy. You said we aren’t giving other militaries money. I’m asking you if a subsidy is a gift. It’s a pretty important piece of the puzzle.

Again. The confusion is that you don’t think a subsidy is a gift. Semantics. I don’t need to “win” this. I’d a subsidy isn’t a gift then you are correct. If it is a gift then I am correct.

And to have global reaction capabilities for ourselves.

But either way, none of it is to fund European militaries.

I never said that. I don't know if the U.S. is giving money to 31 other countries' military. You said we are. I'd like to see some information that supports your statement.

So far you've been unable to provide such support.

And now you're word parsing about subsidies and "gifts" and that doesn't answer my question because other countries pay into NATO just like we do. So are they subsidizing or gifting money to our military?

If you don't have a link that says what you're claiming just admit it. Otherwise I'm just going to consider your comment as Drama Queen bullsnot.
