it appears Trump is pushing through policies that will expand our deficit/debt.
So Massie is anti-Trump, exactly as I said

Massie has consistent principles that I respect. But he’s a hindrance to accomplishing anything this term with this narrow of a majority.

Depending on what they're trying to accomplish that may be a good thing.

You asked, with a lot of framing.

quote:

How does Massie handing Chuck Schumer a brake lever to stop the Trump Train limit spending? Be specific.

See the aforementioned framing in the quote above.

Chuck Schumer doesn't even have anything to do with the House of Representatives, as he's a Senator.

Well there's a lot of people who are going to have some real self-introspection if you are admitting that Trump is a big spending, deficit expanding, politician

His comments are horseshite.

I am addressing his actions, and their effects.

That photo did not take place while Mike Johnson was speaker. Why lie and make stuff up?

In any event, I’m not sure why we should “appreciate” Massie for single-handily trying to derail Trump’s legislative agenda or presidential certification.

This is what's being forgotten with the team mentality

See my post above responding to NC

If Massey is trying to thwart a Trump administration that is basically Democrat, then that should be seen as a good thing.

This is why they elected him for multiple terms

Despite Trump, the GOPe and the Israel lobby aligning against him, propping up an opponent and spending millions against him in his campaign.

His constituents know exactly what he is for and against and they love him for it. I wish he was my representative.

He's one of the few in DC actually doing his job.

This is a replay of all the bitching about Massie over the Covid spending.

All of the exact talking points, all of the "backbencher" and "he's helping the democrats" bullshite, all of the "he's against MAGA" and he was exactly fricking right.

People don't learn.

He's one vote. It is not his fault that Johnson's leadership failed to get a bigger majority in the House.

Are you insinuating that his votes should change, his principles should vary based on how shitty the Republicans do in elections?

How about all of the others vote Massie's way? Why don't they change THEIR convictions?

If Massey is trying to thwart a Trump administration
then Massie is as much a liar as John McCain was when he refused to scuttle the ACA. As I've said, Massie is nothing but Paul Ryan without Ryan's ability to move off the backbench.

Because "all of the others" are not anti-MAGA.

Actually the Freedom Caucus.

They don't want to repeat the mistakes of 2017/2018 where the GOP held everything and achieved nothing.

You don't have to give them, the Freedom Caucus, a lot but you have to give them something.

Progress needs to be made.;

We are on the same page.

Why trying to figure out the reason. Is it legit grandstanding to make sure it's known for their voters or is it a controlled version. We need to know from Massie/Roy what they want/expect to see from Johnson for their vote. I believe he can only afford to lose 1. If we don't know what they want we can't determine if Johnson is doing it. Ie we want to see more 1 topic bills, more time to read them, etc etc. Not just pork for their districts.

Correct

And in the interim, when this hypocrisy was brought up when MAGA was pumping up Massiea s being based, melts commenced.

Glad to see the true stripes emerging.

And I don't agree with Massie 100% of the time or anything like that, but he's sincere in his policy preferences and only now is that seen as being bad.
