This is the sentiment that has set Louisiana back generations. Low info voters who can’t see the benefit of having power in DC.
Louisiana is better off with the speaker representing us.
You need to move

Because he doesn’t support our guy who is there to improve Louisiana
Thomas Massie isn’t from Louisiana. Why would any self respecting Louisiana voter support his position against our guy?

Massie is a fraud. He’s all Libertarian until his crappy congressional district in Kentucky wants every form of government cheese then he turns into a Democrat. One of the biggest hypocrites in Congress.
He follows the Ron Paul model...
quote:
The principle of the earmark is our responsibility. We’re supposed to — it’s like a — a tax credit. And I vote for all tax credits, no matter how silly they might seem. If I can give you any of you of your money back, I vote for it. So, if I can give my district any money back, I encourage that. But, because the budget is out of control, I haven’t voted for an appropriation in years — if ever. ... I don’t think the federal government should be doing it. But, if they’re going to allot the money, I have a responsibility to represent my people. If they say, hey, look, put in a highway for the district, I put it in. I put in all their requests, because I’m their representative.
-Ron Paul
Ron put requests in every bill, then voted against the bill.

Standing on principles is one thing being an obstacle and not playing the long game to achieve those principles is not being an effective leader. Massey not only lost the speaker battle but he empowered the democrats, weakened party unity and will suffer some unknown consequences down the road. You can't be effective by dying on every hill.

What has the speaker done for Louisiana?

It was a goofy mostly pointless charade (and I’d venture to guess part of a “deal” Massie cut ahead of time). Nothing more nothing less.
The above is all hyperbolic silliness.

Hasn’t had much time or support to get anything done
It’s in our/louisiana’s best interest to have him as speaker

Hes a grandstander. An attention whore. Hes done NOTHING as a KY representative for the past 12 years. Never been the Speaker, never in leadership, never took on McConnel or Beshear
The Tea Party got him elected, and now that its morphed into MAGA, he mocks the very movement that got him that fat paycheck
quote:
In his victory speech, Massie thanked "the Tea Party, the liberty movement, and grassroots Ronald Reagan Republicans"
quote:
Massie broke from the majority of his party by opposing the reelection of Speaker of the House John Boehner, instead casting his vote for Justin Amash
Amash. Lulz
quote:
Massie objected to a voice vote to award golf star Jack Nicklaus a gold medal recognizing his "service to the nation", and demanded a roll call vote. The vote passed easily, 371–10.
Hes a gnat. Buzzing around only to be annoying
quote:
He voted against an extension of U.S. sanctions against Iran, the only member of the House to do so. Politico named him "Mr. No"
And after the past 4 years, heres the kicker
quote:
Massie was one of 14 Republicans to vote with all House Democrats to override Trump's veto of a measure unwinding Trump's declaration of a national emergency at the southern border.
In merely lint in the belly button of our govt
I hope that was detailed enough for you

Who gives a shite about hurting The Donald's feelings? I'm as big of a Trump fan on here but I am under no illusions about his conservative principles. He wants his name on deals. If those deals increase spending, what was the fricking point of electing him?
For those of you squawking, "Massie has no plan! He's just being a contrarian!", it seems cutting the federal government bureaucracy and massive overspending is a damned good plan.

I have no doubt you voted for Trump, probably contributed to his campaign, argued for his election with friends/family, flew Trump flags, and cheered MAGA to victory last November, but unless you see blue eyes and a mess of whispy orange hair when you're f'n your wife, you are not as big a fan of Trump as is found in these here parts.
