Global population control is certainly needed. Probably among the top 3 things that would benefit society as a whole but no politician would touch it with a 100 foot pole.

Phase out of human existence is obviously absurd but population control is inevitable. Just a matter of how long until it can't be ignored anymore.

So ignorant I can't believe you baited me to respond. There is zero need for population control. Developing nations need the labor and developed nations are naturally againg and reducing in size. You're a sick frick if you're not trolling.

No one has claimed that.

Something that has not been shown to be a problem doesn't need a solution, don't you agree?

Define “problem”.

Is decreasing biodiversity a problem if you are a scientist who uses marine life to create treatments and drugs?

That person probably thinks it’s a problem.

This krap reminds me of the past primitive cultures would sacrifice certain people routinely in order to appease some mythical god in order to keep the volcanoes from erupting or to make it rain to stop a drought. Also, data can be manipulated to fit a certain agenda. Stalin said it wasn't the votes that counted ,what mattered was who counted the votes.

In other words, do nothing and just wait a couple hundred years or so?

This is called presumption shift fallacy. The short version of the long lecture:

Presumption says that if you don't know what to do the position of least risk is to do nothing. This is why courts grant presumption of innocence to the accused.

Presumption shift is 'Well, if it is proven that doing nothing = end of world then we should try anything.'

The fallacy is that there is no proof for climate doom. It's fake. It's a hoax. Therefore, acting on it is as stupid as people who invested in spiritualism in the 1880s.

Some condition that shows a demonstrable negative affect on what is claimed to be the health or well being of another entity?

Again, this is nothing more than a hypothetical and a default position of the fear mongering.
But maybe you can provide some examples showing evidence of your claim?

To Bob Boucher...

Actually, if decreasing biodiversity is a problem then we'd all never have existed. Because there are waaay more animals and plant species that are extinct now than exist today.

This is not fear mongering. Marine biology is used for medical treatments. That’s fact.

If we accept the data as fact that marine biodiversity is in decline, we can reasonably conclude that will have a negative impact on medical research as fewer species would be available for research.

Not good enough. He is still buying good, using electricity and basically destroying the planet. Damn it, do the right thing and lead by example! Off yourself.

It still provides no evidence of your claim beyond a fear mongering hypothetical.

Why is that? Without some specifics its simply a guess.
Can you be more specific as to which marine life you're referring to?

That's a stupid argument by environmental activists since the 1970s. It was what they used to stop any construction because it might eliminate a vernal pool that could create a new wonderful organism that could cure cancer.

Population control is something the far left has desired greatly for decades. The most common number I hear is that they want to reduce humanity to 1/10 of what it is now.

I'm not saying it's going to happen, but it is definitely a thing they want.

Extinction in nature is as natural and expected as rain. How many species went extinct before mankind was even on the earth?
