This is BS. If the president is supposed to drop what hes doing and get back to Washington in the situation room as Hannity suggested last night for every single event that occured around the world, that would actually encourage acts of violence just to elicit that response.
What matters here is what Obama does militarily going forward. That is his response. All he has to do is ask for recommendations from the Pentagon and authorize one and whip some arse. He can do that from anywhere.
And for those of you who conveniently forgot, Reagan was on vaca when the Soviets shot a commecial US flight out of the sky (200+ ppl) and his staff had to beg him to get back to washington, which he finally did several days later when he made his speech.

Because Reagan was on vacation in California on the day of the shootdown (September 1) - He went back to Washington the very next day. Nobody cares if he wanted to, had to be urged, etc., he went back to D.C. and convened the National Security Council on Friday to discuss the matter - now he didn't deliver the major speech until September 5th, Labor Day, but I think that can be excused.
What else you got? Reagan gets an A on foreign policy, brah, deal with it.

I think he should have hauled arse back to the White House and invited Foley's parents to appear in the Rose Garden for a televised speech....extolled the virtues of their hero son. You know---the way he did with Bergdahl, the scum sucking deserter.
Actually, I don't expect the president to return from vacation, but stay off the golf course for an hour at least. He is either clueless about how he comes off, or he doesn't give a damn. I tend to think he doesn't give a damn.

I'm nonplussed about Presidential vacations (although the international trips can be quite costly) - Carter only took like 79 vacation days - I kind of wish we could have increased that by a factor of 18.
