You can go online and watch hours of podcasts with old NBA legends talking about how high the bar of respect was for white players like Bird and Stockton, or how The Last Dance portrayed the players' attitudes toward people like Kukoc, Kerr, and Wennington. You think those sentiments have changed?

I feel like my daughter could write a book about the bull crap she had to endure playing for 2 racists in high school. She turned down really good college offers because they killed her love for the game. Went on to play another sport on scholarship but at one time hoops was her true love and it ticks me off to think about it.

Do you even know what you are arguing at this point? Jokic might win his 4th MVP in a few months. He is the consensus, best player alive. His slowness and unathleticness is almost always brought up with a positive spin, meant to highlight how exceptional he is at everything else to still be the best. Stephen A repeats all the time “no muscle definition, can’t jump on a curb…and you can’t stop the man!”
You trying to be offended on Jokic’s behalf is mind numbing to me.

I knew a parent who wouldn’t let her daughter play high school basketball because she said it was a “lesbian sport”. She pointed especially to college basketball and that was also around the time of Pokie Chatman was leaving LSU over sex allegations with a player.

The ABA guys did and for the last 50 years the NBA has been mostly black and no one cares , who likes basketball. Basketball has made some black Americans VERY rich.
