all right man, if you say so. literally nothing i've ever seen or heard, and that includes knowing multiple pilots and WSOs, or anything that i've seen today searching the internet says that they are considered actual pilots, but i'll defer to your experience.

So my question remains to you, how much time have you spent in a F15E FS or AMU? Like I said I have seen on 5 occasions where a WSO has had to fly a jet back and land it. Do you think someone not qualified as a pilot is going to take over for the pilot and fly the jet. I mean how dumb would it be to have flight controls in the back and not take the time to qualify that person on flying the aircraft. I was flightline avionics but I was also still a marksman and qualified every year on firearms.

You aren’t arguing the point dude. You are saying the WSO is a qualified pilot. Again, I don’t think you know what that means. No offense, I know you work around them, but that doesn’t mean you are knowledgeable to the extent that you believe you are.

Its not the same on every aircraft. I didnt know until today that F18 Super Hornets didnt even have flight controls in the aft cockpit. On heavies they have a lot of aircrew that are not pilots. Im not sure about Army or Marines, maybe it differs by branch.

i ran convoys in Afghanistan. in an emergency, i could have gotten behind the wheel of my MRAP and driven. but i didnt have an MRAP license which would make me a "qualified MRAP driver".
i do not doubt that F-15 WSO / backseaters receive stick time and can take over, just as you've said. what i'm telling you is that you keep callign them "qualified" pilots in a business where "qualified" means a very specific thing, which i think with your experience you would know.

It means in their USAF records they went to flight school and in their active records they are qualified to take off, fly the aircraft and land the aircraft.

So in civilian terms, THEY ARE LICENSED PILOTS

CSO (Combat Systems Officer) the current name for the backseat crew member. CSOs are definitely not qualified pilots. They are not formally trained, nor tested or certified to fly the aircraft. Any ability they have is learned on the go at the discretion of the pilot. And from first hand experience as a pilot flying with WSO/CSO I can tell you there’s a very wide range of flying abilities amongst the CSOs. A few could land, many cannot.

No in civilian terms they do not have a pilots license. However neither does the command pilots.

Can we talk about how a "completely decimated" Iran shot down an F-15?
We need to GTFO.
We need to GTFO.

Dude. For your own sake… Stop talking. Working in Mx doesn’t mean you can speak intelligently on this.

I would talk about it but you don’t even have baseline knowledge so no thanks.
