I disagree. Have children pay for your children. I own a home in Austin and I'll pay $14,000 owning a home here without children. Half of which will go to the school district and distributed. I did my part, now pay for your own kids lunches.

The trannies are definitely teaching the kids there. We got out of there 7 years ago

SIAP-
Any child whose family is on any kind of public assistance already gets free breakfast and lunch at school. Additionally, around here, they get it during Summer Break too.

Absolutely disagree. Prisoner have no other way of eating. But we could cut theirs down to twice a day.

Couple of points here. I taught these kids in inner city Baton Rouge schools for 22 years.
We went from some great lunches that were cooked at the schools to lunches that were cooked off site at a secret location that the children would not eat.The kids called it 'Jailhouse food'. The teachers would not eat it also. And the serving portions are much too small. At one time food was cheap.
Someone is making huge money off this scam.

The kids need to eat ,it is very difficult to learn how to divide fractions when your stomach is biting your backbone but what the public schools are serving is a humanitarian Crime.

I had an inlaw with two kids from two dudes, unmarried, was on welfare, live in a singlewide behind a Churches Chicken. She eventually got her shite together and started a successful house cleaning company once her kids got school-aged, married a relatively decent responsible man, had two more kids with him, and is a functioning tax-paying member of society now. Believe it or not, there are success stories from the welfare system.

Most already do.
And if it’s not free, it’s greatly reduced.

Was she using food stamps to feed her children breakfast and to pack their lunches?

Over half of all public school students have free or reduced lunch.
I do appreciate the acknowledgment that public schools’ closest analog in government is a prison.

We could throw $10k to every meth dealer in the US and you could probably find a success story here and there. The real question is how effective is it, as in percentages, and how much are those returns costing us?

My parents paid for my lunch, and I paid for my boys lunch, and we did just fine.
Stop asking for the gubment to pay for normal needs....
It will end up bad, just look around!

On the surface that's a very noble thought, and so is the idea of free health care for everyone.
However, there really no such thing as a 'free lunch'. What we really need is an economy where everybody can work and make enough money to feed their own children. The government seems to have an agenda to make as many people as possible (and this includes government workers) dependent upon them for their sustenance. It is succeeding. There are now generations of families that know no other way. That's all great grandma, grandma and momma have ever known. They have no idea, nor the desire, to make their own way.
This is no accident.
We must turn this around as much as possible, and it's going to take a long concerted effort. But we have to start.

do you people like kids or not? because you lose your minds over how precious they are when abortion gets brought up, but when it comes to actually helping them they can frick right off.
Seriously, you NPC's need better script writers.

Prison is more of a state state level money laundering scheme as well. The entire system is jacked up.
When they put requirements to “keep someone in jail” longer than it takes to process them in & out on random crimes or arrests, that’s an issue.
Example: Johhny gets arrested for a bar fight. He gets processed or could get processed in less than 24-hours..
BUT, the jail purposely takes their time to process Johnny out in less than 24-hours because they won’t get their full payments from the State & Fed Gov’t on their “head-count”.
Quick summary: the jail gets incentivized to keep people in there longer.
This is just one small example that adds up & also just creates a very bad protocol for The system to procrastinate & look at inmates as a “revenue”.
And 2nd to OP, have you had jail food? No way I would want my kids eating that quality of food, no way….
Inmates & Welfare recipients should all have some sort of civic duties in communities to earn their right to eat.
We could shed a ton of state budgets of their were more work programs, infrastructure programs, massive construction jobs, and on down the line.
After Katrina. I took a several month road trip across the country, I seen the most glorious chain gang worker crew in Southern Arizona, they were working their asses off & thought it was good for them and society.
If I was doing significant time, I’d love to get out and work & pass the time.
