I saw the video showing what appears to be copper pipes used in plumbing.
No one is going to see this feature since it will be behind a wall eventually so why not use the cheaper PVC ?
The Fed reserve could conduct their business from home via a ZOOM call or rent a conference room at the nearest Holiday Inn.
What a waste.

Copper pipes are less effective the PEX and are significantly more expensive. They are just wasting money at this point

Did he ever count the gold in Fort Knox?

Amazing how many of these fiefdoms exist in the structure of our Federal Government that actually believe they are above reproach... Burn it all down...

Pex would be ok but not PVC. You do not use PVC for potable water.

I don’t think you really want to know the answer to that question more than likely we have very little left

The Federal reserve Building and the adjacent Annex building are a combined 176,000 Sq/Ft
At $2,500,000,000.00, that is $9,058 per Sq/Ft.
Now compare the the New Orleans Charity Hospital Renovation at $600,000,000.00 and 1,000,000 or $600 per Sq/Ft
sure the labor rates in N.O. are cheaper then D.C., but not that effect.....
and a hospital renovation per Sq/Ft is traditionally much higher then a governmental building renovation per SQ/FT.....

Fire the lot of them.

I remember when that was the last inspection that was imminent.

As if they have the authority to even do that, it still begs the question of "why?".
Why would they not want to show the President the falling-apart shanty that so desperately needs a $2,500,000,000 renovation? Surely when he sees the atrocious conditions of the building, he'll even throw in extra money. Right?

That isn’t even remotely correct for potable water at least in residential homes, I flip homes on the side and rarely if ever do you run into a house built after the 90’s that isn’t all pvc but the newer ones are all PEX nowf

quote:In fairness, while the Fed did not explicitly block the Trump administration from inspecting its renovation project, it did decline a request from Trump officials for an on-site visit. Instead it released a "virtual tour" of the construction site.
Fake news.
Despite the fact that the Fed had to get National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) approval to undertake the project in 2019, the Fed asserts that it is no longer subject to the direction of the NCPC in terms of the numerous deviations from the original plan. Hence the declined request.
It is kind of a stupid position IMO.

TBH, Pulte is probably better than Trump when it comes to this!
The Fed is about to be bent over on this reno budget mismanagement!

That was before Powell was Chairman of the Fed. Janet Yellen was Chair when the renovation plans were first approved.

Since you are so well versed in it, what was the original approved budget and what is it now?

PVC has been against residential code for over a decade in most of the country. You can use it outside coming to a house but not inside everywhere I have had to deal with code.
Posted on 7/24/25 at 10:22 am to Major Dutch Schaefer
So is the Federal Reserve public or private? We have all been told it's a government agency. Or is that another lie?
Posted on 7/24/25 at 10:25 am to notsince98
I don’t know what to tell you but it definitely isn’t against code in the South so you would be incorrect and even cpvc is used for hot water lines
