Only in that judge’s district. He doesn’t have any power whatsoever outside of his district.

Moreover, ICE and DOJ can obtain contradictory orders from other judges in the same district. Then they don’t have to follow the first order.

Sadly, that’s exactly what it’s shaping up to be.

Lots of things DJT has done that I’ve liked but nothing that can’t be quickly undone as soon as he’s out of office.

Or they can just simply ignore his clearly unconstitutional ruling and tell him to frick off.

I mean, we have been told repeatedly for the last week that everyone should refuse to carry out illegal orders, haven't we?

Oh then please school me as well. I graduated law school almost 40 years ago so it has been awhile since I've been schooled.

Let's take a look at the relevant language from Section 1 of the 14th Amendment:

quote:

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.


You will note that there is not an exception for "people who here illegally."

It plainly states "any person" for both the equal protection clause and due process clause. And yes, the jurisprudence agrees.

So please, school away.
