Not being verbose enough for the occasion might tend to indicate a lack thereof, though.

I think I’ve conveyed this thing like a saint compared to the sass from y’all delinquents here lately.

It’s embarrassing and shameful and cringeworthy that, and I’ve lost count now, but this many supposedly adult people are so incapable of not just participating in the rational exchange of **opinion** but it strikes me that y’all really have no grasp on the concept of “opinion” itself (you’ll note in my original post I conspicuously made that introduction for my own work). Appears that y’all aren’t even in command of the most basic level.

If you're wanting an honest exchange of ideas and opinions, why did you type a thousand word reply to a 6 word post making fun of other posters rather than my fair/respectful post?

1) He’s been the most consistent conservative out there. He has governed exactly as he has promised, and campaigned on how he has governed.

2) For the love of God, please learn to edit.

I’ll be voting for a true conservative in either the Constitution or Libertarian Parties. Y’all keep voting for the Uniparty and enjoy your socialism.

Give me some examples of Trump being a fascist

Plus, examples of how a President has the authority to do any of that. Biden is closer to that nonsense than Trump minus the far-right part. Silly to think Trump is far-right, though.

Because your post wasn’t an offer of opinion. I’ve learned that when someone believes their offering is an opinion, i.e. no more right or wrong than the next guy’s opinion, they make that notation in some way. Even the smallest of mentions does the trick. I use IMO more often than not because obviously it’s shorthand. In few cases the specification isn’t or wasn’t necessary because just the tone and tenor of the text made it clear. All due respect, I didn’t get that from you and frankly not sure that I ever have even once. It’s much more of a “I’m going to tell you how it is” situation. Now is this the end of the world or anything to get stuck on at all? No, I wouldn’t expect anyone to care. But it certainly is how I personally determine whether any further discussion in a matter is worthwhile. Just how I see it.

But he still got only 51% of the votes. I don't think Trump will have a problem in November, but it wouldn't be a bad idea for him to stop picking fights with conservatives.

That 1 county was lost by 1 vote as well.

Or someone didn’t want to see Trump sweep the state and made that happen.

I don't have the post right in front of me now with the drafting window up, but I'm willing to bet you didn't post "IMO" before you told everyone in participating in this thread that they're closed-minded. So is it just certain opinions that can be offered without the "I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS THIS IS JUST AN OPINION" caveat?

quote:

It’s much more of a “I’m going to tell you how it is” situation.

What's an opinion? Isn't it someone's view of how it is?

quote:

But it certainly is how I personally determine whether any further discussion in a matter is worthwhile. Just how I see it.

With all due respect and not being critical of anyone or suggesting there's no wiggle room for this to not be the case because it's text and things are easy to fall through the cracks so nobody should take this with every word at its literal meaning so nothing here to get bent out of shape about it really is just an opinion and it is offered in good humor and respect to anyone that may possibly read it so really nobody should feel bad about anything and if they have a counter-opinion they should feel welcome to express it because that's what discussion boards are for and I do not want to say something in a way that can be construed as "I know it all" because we're all humans and none of us knows it all.

All that said, it comes across like you don't want to continue the discussion because you have no answer. And understand something, davy, this is how it goes when engaging a dyed-in-the wool Trump guy. They post something like "I think DeSantis is inauthentic and unprincipled" and in response a Ronbot like me asks for examples of things DeSantis has done as governor or house member that are consistent with him not being a genuine conservative - and that's where the discussion ends.

First you ask “what is opinion,” then you next provide a pretty comprehensive explanation of opinion (as snarky as it may be), then fade out and carry on as if you’ve never even heard the word opinion. And the olive on top of the sandwich - throwing in a word that I didn’t even say once in my opinion about Desantis, clearly because the last part of your diatribe needed it to not look like an unjustified rant.
