we have this in LA.
Its not really a big deal considering the majority of people who vote legally will already have id.
And i find it hard to believe someone that doesnt have any form of ID gives a shite about voting. You cant do anything as an adult without a damn ID.

Dead people don't give a shite about voting, either, but they do.

And more on the way. Gwinnett went from solidly Republican to Democratic in two years, supposedly. A long serving Sheriff retired and the new Sheriff promptly announced that he would no longer cooperate with ICE to see if people they had pulled over had outstanding warrants -- basically making us a sanctuary county. The new tax commissioner, been on the job a couple of months, is trying to raise her salary from $140k to $250k. A new county commissioner wants to raise her salary from $75k to $150k our our state rep says that you are racist if you do not support her.
Our county has turned into a shiteshow my friend. Sad what has become of it in such a short amount of time. Don't forget the school board axed our very successful superintendent recently as well, no doubt to be replaced by someone with inner city experience.

I did a study of voting patterns in Georgia and noticed that Gwinnett and Cobb counties in metro Atlanta were Republican strongholds from 1980 to 2012. Both went full Democratic in 2020, with vote totals in each nearing 60%!
The parts of Gwinnett and Cobb that have turned dark blue are not really suburban areas, just extensions of urban areas of people moving outside of 285. Gwinnett south of 85 has become heavily minority and in many cases quite ghetto in the last 10 years.

Now, Gwinnett is absolutely lost. Outside of Peachtree Corners and Peachtree Ridge/ Sugarloaf, it's a shite hole.

Normal business hours are racist as black americans don't have cars or ID's or know how to use the internet. Tiana should be there 24/7 to support her well thought out idea and see it through for free.

A similar pattern has occurred in suburban counties since 2012 in other parts of the country-- Orange County, California; the counties surrounding Philadelphia; Fort Bend Co. near Houston; Hays and Williamson counties near Austin are the most obvious to shift in 8 years. Shouldn't Republicans soul search and determine why they turn off suburban voters, rather than constantly complain about unproved theories like "fraud" and "stolen elections"?
I don't follow other cities but as an Atlanta native, raised in the suburbs, and having lived nearby for most of my 40+ years, I can tell you that the republicans aren't losing suburban voters. The cities are creeping out into the suburbs, and there's a second version of White Flight moving out of the suburbs even further than they did in the 60s and 70s.
The white conservatives from Cobb are moving out to Bartow, Paulding, and Cherokee counties. Their populations are exploding and their Redness holds strong.
The white conservatives from Gwinnett are high-tailing it up to Hall County around Lake Lanier and to Forsyth. Population exploding, Hall's Redness holds strong.
And with new people moving to ATL Metro all the time, they look at the declining school statistics and soaring crime rates in these traditionally safe good quality suburbs, they move to the next county out where they still have good schools and low crime.
So you see, it's a combination of inner city blues moving into the traditional suburbs, driving out the traditional suburban dwellers into a third category you might call a "sub-suburb" that circles Atlanta, that remains Red.

Been in Gwinnett since 1983, grew up in Peachtree Corners and have lived in the northern part of the county since 2002 (NorthGwinnettTiger and I are pretty much neighbors). I've seen it change myself. We are still somewhat okay here in the northern part of the county, but with the amount of multifamily housing going in around us, it's just a matter of time before it migrates out here too. I'm hoping to get my daughter through school before we leave, but I'm not sure we can last another 11 years.
Norcross proper was never overly nice, but it's a relatively recent phenomenon of becoming a no-go zone. The area around Jimmy Carter and Singleton has become a war zone.

Tarzana no live in concrete jungle, I guess?
Neighborhoods have been changed by migration to the point schools are a complete 180 of what they were just a few years ago. Some areas around here, you may not even see English on signs at all. It's not rocket surgery to see why voting trends have changed.
I have lived in this Atlanta burb for 14 years. It used to be obvious when you'd see a minority race, but now? My kids' school is majority Indian/Pakistani/Black. This wasn't a gradual change, this happened in the span of less than 5 years. We've only been zoned for this school for that long. Simultaneously, a school that was once ranked in the top 10 for the state, you now have to keep on clickin' to find the ranking. Moving people into high-end areas doesn't instantly make them great students or high achievers. What you do get are kids that are highly transient (they live in apartments and townhomes, for the most part), and struggle mightily compared to the "native" population, with ESL numbers soaring, kids in grades as high as 4th grade testing at pre-primer levels, significant developmental and behavioral issues compared to other groups, etc etc, the other kids don't get the attention they deserve, and the school suffers.
My mother in law is an ESL teacher, and my wife teaches special ed. I have never seen people more stressed out and overburdened.
The private schools here have THRIVED, even with tuitions in excess of $20k, parents are pulling their kids out of schools.

As a Gwinnett Resident myself, I can confirm all of this. I moved here in 2017 and the elementary school was in the top 15% in the state by test scores. Now, 4 years later, it's like concrete-tiger says, you have to keep clicking refresh on the rankings because it is dropping so fast. Big demo switch too, compared to 4 years ago.
Today was my kid's first day of private school! Done with the public ones, that were very good just 4 years ago (one reason we decided to buy here).
It has been a super fast shift. Well it's been shifting for a long time, but it really started accelerating in the last few years.

How would achievers messages gravitate to the unwashed minds of those who can’t even read or write in own native tongues and of those who hold little to no desire to learn our customs and language present for betterment in our land of milk and honey?

We're less white than we've been in 100 years. The people moving to this state are too. In 1980 we were 70% white. Today it's 55%.

It’s not like the same people went from voting republican to democrat. In terms of 2020, what should the republicans have done, offered a larger check? It’s pretty clear the cash for votes plan worked

Oh boy does this hit home in Chicagoland. For those of you who know the area, Lake, DuPage, Will and Kane used to be solid red. Now they are light blue and getting darker due to Cook County and Chicago’s rejects. Add brainwashed white millennials and then Toss in Mexican voters that don’t know any better as well. My county of McHenry is the last red stronghold but we are getting pinker by the year thanks to the mentioned above. Not many places to go to anymore where you can have a decent commute to downtown Chicago or the suburban corporate parks.

I bet those scanned ID copies are just inventoried and added to the voting roles. It’s the latest Ga scam. Those people will be Democratic voters for the next 200 years, and never have to come in again to vote

Really reading these posts about Atlanta is enlightening. I've been there as recently as 2016, but wasn't aware that the city was expanding that fast. The same thing is happening in metro Houston but not that fast.
