I don’t mind a holiday celebrating the white race’s decision to end slavery

I wish the liberals of the North / West wouldn't move to the South.

Is there a Juneteenth National Anthem?

Apparently there’s a flag

All I know I get paid a lot to stay at home. Besides that it’s something to do with blacks. Sounds made up and stupid.

If it was solely up to me I’d give the holiday pay back and get rid of it.

This is a totally made up holiday. Kwanza has more credibility than Juneteenth.

Does everyone that celebrates this holiday have no clue why it's a holiday?

Thanks for posting this thread. I was about to go out and check my mail box. You saved me the useless walk.

I remember things that were spoken and taught as right and wrong before ebonics.

I agree. The name suggest the holiday is celebrating a lack of education.

It's the black communities' Independance Day or 4th of July. I get it.

I grew up in a 100k town in north Alabama. My elementary school intergrated when I was in third grade in the 1970s, and I graduated from a 50% black high school. I had never heard of this holiday until after Obama left the White House.

So...I don't know what it is/was.

Juneteenth is a worthy holiday. The end of slavery was a really big deal. Although, Juneteenth is about certain slaves finding out they were actually freed some 2 years prior, it is still a celebration of the end of slavery in the USA.

That’s why I don’t like it. It’s to further separate black people from the US at large.

Wouldn't that be the Emancipation Proclamation?

"I don’t have a problem with a federal holiday that is associated with emancipation of the slaves. I just have a problem that Juneteenth came about because of liberal virtual signaling during the BLM riots and The celebration of a fentanyl abusing George Floyd."
