Unfortunately, you're probably right. Many on this forum are probably too young to remember Buddy Roemer. A former businessman, governor who campaigned on revolutionizing state government. Well, he accomplished almost nothing, and was a one term governor. I don't see much of anything changing regardless of who wins.

30 Billion dollar budget for 4 million people is criminal. What does Governor Honor Code do, raise our taxes and try to fatten up his spending programs so that is now a base line and we'll never see our tax dollars again. Probably will go to pay back the Gumbo PAC slugs like Morris Bart, Gordnon McKernan or Dudley DeBosier.

His plan is to cut states taxes(revenue) in lieu of more local taxes, such as parish and city taxes. Then he can claim, I cut taxes, but the truth is more local taxes were levied on citizens. The rural parishes don't have the tax base structure of larger cities and metro areas, so they can't increase taxes to make up for the cuts. Also, he can take a page out of his buddy Jindal's playbook and increase state fees, but again say it's not a tax increase.
