It’s fine if you remove it beforehand, I’ve just never thought of rain in my barrel when I’m hunting to be a significant concern that justifies the practice.

The real question is why he needs a scary semi-automatic when a single shot or double barrel will kill a bird the same way? Why does he need a higher capacity magazine? They didn't have those back in Revolutionary War times...
