This just points out the moral inconsistencies of both parties. At the end of the day, it’s not about your ability to choose, it’s about you choosing what they want you to choose.

Well, chances are, she's college-aged and unemployed from her waitressing gig, but f-it. I like seeing the yutes like her in public. If this is not for show, then there are more of hers like her. And that is a good thing.
And she's a badass which helps.

Understanding your point, doesn't that necessarily come secondary to initially protecting oneself first? (Assuming we're not talking about someone who has it and is, yes, attempting to "keep it to themself". Let's hope it's not often the latter case which would be another level of selfishness.)
