Upon arrival, they were met with rudeness, disrespect, and a lack of basic professional courtesy by hospital administrators.
Hospital administrators = Overpaid, nonmedical suits empowered by DC legislation, and exerting costly, inefficient expense on American medicine.

I have to believe HHS could make things mighty difficult for this place if this is true.
In a sane world.
And unless an immediate example is made of this hospital supervisor and staff, expect "the resistance movement" to snowball.

Amazing how all of a sudden it’s ok for businesses and institutions to discriminate against those they don’t like.

I thought emergency rooms were legally required to provide service.
They are, it's called the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act or EMTALA...
quote:
EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act) is a U.S. federal law requiring Medicare-participating hospitals to provide emergency medical screening and stabilizing treatment to anyone in need, regardless of their insurance, citizenship, or ability to pay, preventing "patient dumping" and ensuring access to care for emergency medical conditions, including active labor. It mandates hospitals to offer an appropriate medical screening exam, stabilize any emergency condition, and arrange for appropriate transfers if they can't provide care, covering most hospital emergency departments.
Key Requirements of EMTALA
Medical Screening Examination (MSE): Hospitals must provide a thorough screening to determine if an emergency medical condition (EMC) exists, without delaying care to check insurance.
Stabilization: If an EMC is found, the hospital must provide stabilizing treatment to ensure the patient's condition won't worsen, or arrange a safe transfer.
Transfer: If a patient needs a transfer to another facility for specialized care, the transfer must be safe and appropriate.
Who it Applies To
Hospitals: All Medicare-participating hospitals with an emergency department (ED) and even standalone EDs/urgent cares that hold themselves out as emergency providers.
Patients: Applies to all individuals, not just Medicare beneficiaries, who come to the hospital campus (including parking lots, sidewalks) seeking emergency care.
What it Protects
Ensures access to emergency care regardless of income, insurance status, or immigration status.
Prohibits delaying necessary treatment to determine ability to pay.
Covers emergency care for conditions like active labor, requiring treatment if a pregnant woman's health is at risk.
Why it's Important
Guarantees basic emergency services for everyone in the U.S..
Creates a federal duty for physicians to treat emergency conditions, sometimes preempting conflicting state laws.

If this is true, that hospital will get their asses sued off and any lawyer will jump on this case with the fastest..

No reason for that hospital to ever receive another federal payment or subsidy.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Hospital administrators, doctors, nurses, etc are not allowed to do that. If this actually happened then I hope the officers involved sue the fudge out of the hospitals and go after the individual administrators too.

Hospital administrators =/= doctors and nurses.
It's either an journalist error or a really weird situation.
Admin isn't rolling into the EC to talk to patients...It's run by the clinical staff & Medical Directors (Drs.) on duty. Admin is typically just supporting those duties/making sure everything is compliant.
Unless it was the CEO personally, The average EC doc would probably tell admin to frick off while they treat the patient

If this headline represents the facts then this is what should happen immediately...
The Hospital looses all its licensing, credentials and ability to see any patients until all of the following happens:
Every member of staff onsite at that time in that department is suspended.
Every member of the staff suspended is investigated to determine who did what and when it was done.
Once all the people involved with the extreme and severe breach of medical trust are identified they are immediately stripped of all their credentials and forever banned from the medical community anywhere where US funds and influence is involved..
The remainder of the staff not involved in any way with this event can be reinstated.
After all those requirements are satsfied, then a review would be held to examine the possibility of reinstating the Hospital.
Thats the way I would handle this....
