If you didn’t make it above O-5 haven’t served in 3 wars and do not have at least 2 bronze stars, legion of merit, 16 deployments and top security clearance and have been an XO for an elite combat unit based at the second largest base in this great country you are barking up the wrong tree
You have none of that. Thanks for playing. Post a pic of your dd214 and I'll share mine with a bronze star with a v, nam with a v, and 2 purple hearts. You're move cuck (also noticed no v devices. Your imaginary awards are trash)

I never said I did, I just said if you didn’t have that you are barking up the wrong tree.
You are unhinged. Go to bed.

So. You’re in favor of a flat tax, right?
Yes. I am.

Overtime pay is taxed at a higher rate than normal income tax. You have an enormous portion of the population, mostly made up of democrats, THAT DO NOT frickING WORK AT ALL but get a government handout monthly and you want to grandstand about people that work overtime are undeserving.
First off, overtime has more taxes withdrawn than regular salary because withdrawn taxes are estimated based on your base salary. They take a flat 25% from overtime and bonuses to make sure if you are pushed into a higher bracket from how your base salary works it is accounted for.
My bonus and supplemental salary always gets taxed at 25%, but guess what? I always get it back when I file taxes.
So you can complain that it is done to cover for unexpected income, sure, but they aren’t taxing it more.

Uhhmmm you idiots are the ones who screamed racism, sexism, homophobia and "they are gonna kill children and push grandma over the cliff" everytime the GOP opposed Obummer or Kilary or Kackles or Obamacare. Remember, you said we hate blacks, Jews, Mexicans, Muslims and on and on and on.
1) I am not a liberal.
2) being against unfair tax practices in either direction makes me a liberal?
I always forget how shallow minded some of you are and your lack of analytical and critical thinking.

Amazing isn’t it?
I’ve been called a liberal twice today and I’m the furthest from it.
It goes to show you how selfish people are. It’s all about money.
You tell these men that this proposal isn’t fair to everyone, even in their own party, and they tell us to GFY.
Per the usual when the cash gets close enough for someone to smell it and already have plans for it they will sell their brothers out in a heartbeat.
If that isn’t “liberal” “democrat” or whatever, I don’t know what is.

I just don’t understand how we cannot agree it’s not fair to everyone.

Budget neutral?
What budget?!?
Congress has not passed an actual budget since W was in office, so what budget are they talking about?

Regardless of your words, your actions show you to be a liberal. You walk, talk and act like one. Being a pompous, pretentious, arrogant, condescending, better-than-thou, elitist, smug, a$$ is why I call you a liberal. Not your "tone". I can't even hear you to judge your tone.
nobody is talking down to you in this thread
you just don't seem to understand how money and taxes work so you get defensive and start hurling insults

Why should I work extra hours, over 40 for free. After taxes you make penny’s for each overtime hour after 58. It’s not worth working a full 60. And sundays its worse. Thats why overtime tax is a big deal. Have a 7-10 75 day outage it will be much easier to get workers there every day verses skipping a day.

we just don’t think they should get special tax treatment for the same amount of work.
Why not when y'all use agencies to funnel billions to y'all's bank accounts ? Looking at the population in some of these countries y'all are spending 50 dollars on condoms for, it's kinda hard to believe,
What we asking for? A waitress that gets a $10 tip to not get taxed %10 on that. That's a fricking dollar
Posted on 2/26/25 at 9:18 pm to Chazreinhold
So if someone is a waiter at Joel Roubouchon in Vegas where the average tip is well over $100 per table sometimes into the $1000s they shouldnt have to pay tax on this? There has to be some limits lol.

The number of idiots in this thread that actually think overtime is taxed at a federal level differently than regular wages is hilarious.
They seem to think withheld taxes and in the end owed taxes are the same thing. All I am seeing in this thread is a bunch of geniuses that can’t understand that when you make more, you inherently pay more in taxes because shocker you made more money.
Reality is that while it may put you in a higher tax bracket m, the highest tax rate is 37%, so at 1.5x rate that OT pays, you are making more in OT hours even after the higher tax rate than your during your regular hours.
But hey, I know math and logic is hard and people just have to play victim.

Your waitress is already taxed at lower rates and doesn't phase out of other little goodies.

So genius, who are the types that need tips? certainly is not the upper class. You guys want slush fund money so bad that you can't find a way to allow people who make a low hourly wage and need tips for the ability to take a bit more home to help with their bills. Wow! so much for being for the little guy.
They need to pay their fair share.
