The irony of y'all idiocy is that the question is framed to be about the average American, not the integrity of the country as a whole.
The last group of "average Americans" killed on American soil (around 3,000 of them) were killed by exactly the kind of terrorists that Iran creates, funds, and exports.
Now the US itself wasn't harmed by those attacks, but "average Americans" were.
