90% Trump here in North MS as you might expect. A gay couple lives in the house on the corner of my street, they had a “Ridin with Biden” sign (the “e” in Biden was a rainbow) for a couple months and since he’s dropped out they’ve replaced it with a Kamala sign. Made me laugh

East Tennessee, not Knoxville.
Trump flags flying from pickup trucks.

Knoxville, university town, is all about Bide...Harris. Oh yeah, Harris now.

Despite Memphis it's Trump all the way.

I'm currently visiting family in northern AZ. It was obvious in 2020 here that this is Trump county. Now, in 2024, it's even more obvious. I mean, the American flags and Trump flags on houses and vehicles here, it's refreshing. Unfortunately, AZ still has to deal with Maricopa and all the liberal California defectors.

Back home in OK? I reside in the arterial red beating heart of the central part of the state. We will be red as long as we exist. Now if you go around the greater OKC and Tulsa metro areas, 2020 felt "worrisome" and a little purplish, but I'm not getting that in 2024. Our average median income isn't very high here at all, and EVERYBODY is feeling, while barely anyone has forgotten how much better it was under Trump.

They all went to those events on credit, not disposable income. The bill comes due ... Always

The crowds in Paris are not made up of your average American.

ETA: I feel dumber for even partially entertaining the notion that people enjoying cyclical sporting events has any bearing on economic outlook or political trends.

that’s the thing, PEOPLE NEED TO WEAR OUR TEAM ON OUR CHEST!

i’m in New Orleans, the wild wild west, doesn’t get much crazier or dangerous than this area and i’ll wear my MAGA hat or whatever.

and you’d be surprised how many closet Trump fans there are.

but to walk around and be scared to speak your mind or say who you support, that’s why we are into this mess.

STAND UP AND BE A MQN & A LEADER!

Don’t be afraid of co-workers or HR.

video yourself and if anyone reports you, have evidence you haven’t done anything and if they want to fire you, sue their asses.

it’s time to
fight fire with fire!!

Because tips are usually earned by low income people. If you are looking to provide relief from inflation to the American public, this is a great place to start.

However, it's really not an important gesture since many people who claim tips don't earn enough to pay meaningful taxes with exemption. Brilliant move by Trump!

We already have an enormous percentage of the public not paying income taxes. I have no idea how shifting an even larger percentage of the tax burden onto the middle class is a good thing.

It’s naked populist pandering.

I’m aware. By and large, your average person isn’t at these games outside of maybe local Parisians. These are wealthy people attending.

These people aren't paying into the government already because they are typically POOR! You think 15 percent of 25k that already is tax exempt is going to fix things?

I'm in Atlanta. Nothing has changed other than the fact that it seems to have shifted even further left.

So what else shouldn’t be taxed? Should we not tax anyone making less than 100k a year?

Pretty amazing how we’ve gone from being pissed that half the country doesn’t contribute a dime to suddenly agreeing that they shouldn’t pay anything at all.

Everyone should pay income tax if anyone has to pay income tax.

Trump wins Louisiana easily. Thank God I live amongst like minded individuals.

Also, I honestly believe things have gotten so bad for the lower middle class, it’s hard to get excited about a Harris/Walz ticket. We can’t afford another four years of this crap.

So who exactly are we discussing in the context of the other posters argument that the economy won’t matter in 2024 because people have enjoyed the Euro tournament and the Olympics?

Good discussion. Probably not for this thread. Sorry for the derail. Start another thread and I'll meet you there to discuss.
