You think the Iranian people are going to welcome Arab and Israeli boots on the ground with open arms?

The IRGC felt it necessary to kill >30,000 of their own people. The people, by an overwhelming margin hate the regime. And the protests celebrating the end of the regime are very decidedly thankful of and very pro Trump.

When the regime has been decimated enough the people will be exacting revenge and I don't think outside troops will be necessary.

And as an added benefit because of the goodwill expressed toward Trump he will get a big say in what happens when the country is pacified.

The geopolitical risk in this is if we don’t fill the power vacuum China will. China knows the American people have zero appetite for another drawn out Middle Eastern conflict and will be ready to pounce if we leave the door open

While not ideal, China running Iran would be better than the current regime that funds and trains proxies all over the region.

These issues have already been ironed out months ago. There will be no power vacuum. The new leadership is simply waiting for the heat to go down and then the new gov't will be built.

Yep. Of course. I guess "boots on the ground" means the 82nd Airborne. Who I have heard, have been told they are "next up". Meaning-a contingency. So, for me "boots" just seems inevitable-to kill people and break things and GTFO. Not to occupy or grind out regime change.

I don't see how any IRGC unit should be able to assemble in more than a group of three.

LOL, the majority would. They have been begging us to come to their rescue.

But regardless, it has never been the case that being welcomed with open arms is a criteria for special forces to enter a country.

Sooner rather than later. My coworker's son, who joined the marines last year, was supposed to ship out to Australia next week for a 6 month training tour. It was cancelled yesterday, he's now gearing up for deployment to the Middle East and has been informed to fill out his will. Take that for what it's worth

I’m very surprised we haven’t heard news of Marine Expeditionary Units heading that way yet.

Posters are naive.

The world saw how much effort Israel had to do to eradicate Hamas leadership who is still fighting despite losing most of their leaders, and they believe the leaders and their followers in Iran wont fight to the death with a larger population and more weapons, with no threat of ground troops from the US.

A bloody civil war could break out. Thats more likely than a successful uprising from the Iranian people.

Rubio just contradicted you.

All of Maduro's subordinates and leaders who killed, and brutalized Venezuela civilians are still there. The regime is still in place .All we did was take out the leader.

You cant do that in Iran, who has significant control of the world's oil market and hardliners who hate America. They want to destroy us

Let me explain to you guys this in simple English, ok? Iran is run by lunatics — religious fanatic lunatics. They have an ambition to have nuclear weapons. They intend to develop those nuclear weapons behind a program of missiles and drones and terrorism that the world will not be able to touch them for fear of those things.

And this is the weakest they've ever been. Now is the time to go after them. The President made the decision to go after them, take away their missiles, take away their navy, take away their drones, take away their ability to make those things, so that they can never have a nuclear weapon...

That's why the President made this decision. It was the right decision — and the world will be a safer place when these radical clerics no longer have access to these weapons. You see how they're using them now. Imagine how they would use them a year from now if they had more of these.”

I saw 4 or 5 charter busses full of Army Airborne soldiers today. Not sure where they're headed but probably not routine training.
