older voters, rural residents, low-income citizens

If these voting blocs are the ones most affected by the SAVE Act, it seems it would benefit the left moreso than the right.

Replacing documents can cost money and take weeks or months.

If you can’t take the time during these “weeks and months” to get your shite together over what for the most part is a year between voting, also assuming most of these people are probably only voting every 4 years, then that is on you. If voting is that important to someone, they’ll get it together.

Makes sense. How’s the meth business treating you?

Was it the good stuff behind the counter?

For some cold medicines they need to make sure you are not building a math lab. So they keep track and add up your purchases to make sure you don’t buy enough to to cook meth.

I purchased Pseudoephedrine AKA Sudafed recently.

The receipt had my YTD (year to date) purchases on the bottom.

something as important as voting

That's exactly why having barriers to voting is problematic. It's SO important, that the bar is set very high to keep someone from doing it.

Should someone have to prove they can read before they can vote? Should they have to prove an understanding of US Civics in order to vote? You may think so until they make the tests such that you can't pass them.

I guess if it were important to me I'd study for it.

Millions of Americans don’t have easy access to these documents: older voters, rural residents, low-income citizens, and married women (name changes) are affected.

Bull Excrement. These people "rural residents, low-income citizens" tend to smoke and drink. Need an ID to purchase both cigarettes and alcohol. "low-income citizens and old people" tend to get government benefits. Whether that be medicare, medicade, welfare, ebt or social security. Need an ID to register for all of them. The gov't rarely sends payments in the form of a check (especially monthly payments), so you need a bank account to set up direct deposit. Need an ID to open a bank account.

cold medicine is probably tied to it containing ingredients used to make meth as has been said.

i've been carded for buying spaypaint and when I asked about it the clerk said it's because kids are huffing it.

What does being id checked for medicine have to do with only American citizens voting?

Were they doing a background check, or just an age verification?

Once they started the ID's for purchases I began using shopping services.

Dude...Real ID.

Took the same documents and is now the ID used to scan the cold medicine in the OP.

Your reasoning is faulty.

The very simple fact that ID is required in many day-to-day transactions of daily life.

Right, np and everyone understands that to drive or verify themselves is required. That's Expected.

They didn't ask for a birth certificate or a passport luckily, bc alot of Americans don't know where their bc is, and/or even own a passport.

They keep a log of how many you buy so you can't just run around buying two boxes here and two boxes there. In theory if you buy an unreasonable amount you'll be getting a home visit. I'm not sure if it's State Police, Pharma Board, or DEA that's keeping tabs.

This is what is required to get a DL these days(for Iowa, I know but follows Real ID ruleset)

See where it says:

Passport
Or
Birth Cert
Or
Cert of citizenship/naturalization
