§14:329. Interfering with a law enforcement investigation

Don’t know what the Federal equivalent statute is. Google it yourself

It was a Socratic question.

No such statute exists, which bans a citizen from simply following a police officer.

Try again. None of that applies to two Valley Girls doing nothing but following an LEO. They weren’t interfering with anything or intimidating anyone.

These crimes are process crimes.

They’re completely subjective.

If LEO wants to arrest you for it, they can. They can take them in, book them, and give them a court date after they bail.

Now, whether it stands in court is another thing…

But if they’re following LEO around purposely while they’re conducting a raid or conducting surveillance, they can most certainly argue obstruction. Especially after a warning.

Bingo.

Be sure to equip your car with a dashcam with audio, and be prepared to ask very specific questions regarding probable cause.

I said following and filming is not a crime, not interfering. You will probably get arrested. If you sue for false imprisonment, you will probably win. Law enforcement needs to learn the law.

Seems like the younger Fox women, especially the liberals were using “did-dent” “could-dent” and “should-dent” way back in the 2000s. I never really associated it with Ebonics, but then again, whenever I hear ghetto talk, especially from white people, I immediately turn the channel or walk out of hearing distance. BTW, Kenny Webster does this too. They sound like kindergartners just learning to speak. Guarantee you they think they sound sophisticated when they do that.

There's also nothing that stops them from detaining the girls and questioning them, and finding out why they are following them

Follow them. They dont know who you are or why youre following them. Sounds like attempted intimidation to me.

You planning to out their location or call up a crowd? Obstruction interference. intimidation

They can question the girls, they can't detain them (legally) without REASONABLE suspicion of a CRIME. Not suspicious behavior, a crime has be articulable.

18 U.S.C. § 111 is a federal criminal law that makes it a crime to assault, resist, oppose, impede, intimidate, or interfere with certain federal officers or employees while they are performing their official duties.

Not following and filming. Supreme Court already said that as legal to do.

Short answer:
?? No — simply following and filming police in public is not a crime in the United States as long as you do not interfere with their duties.

That right is protected by the First Amendment and has been upheld by many federal courts.

Alyssa Milano used to say did-dent and could-dent all the way back in WTB.

If you're tailing and harassing LEOs, at the very least you're going to be confronted.

Or don't be a complete dumbass and follow ICE agents around as they do their jobs.

That is the easier option.

I see you added harassing in there. Following and filming is not harassment.
He said he would break her window, drag her out of the car and arrest her.

He would be in big trouble as he stated the reason as they were following and filming him.
