I (age 69) took dose one of Moderna on Feb 16. My wife (age 65) took dose one of Pfizer on Feb 13. Neither of us had any adverse reaction at all not even a sore arm.

Personally, I hope all will take one of the vaccines as soon as you can. Widespread vaccinations are going to lead us out of this pandemic. To reject vaccination is to lengthen pandemic restrictions, IMO.

The VA has no legal means to require a retiree or veteran to do anything unless your healthcare is solely VA.

I said no.

I am not convinced I need it. I am not convinced that it has been tested properly, this is not only the first vaccine for a coronavirus ever, it is the first vaccine of its kind ever. We don't know what the long term effects are and we don't know how effective it is.

I’m a doctor.
A pathologist.

Vaccines are probably the only reason we live past 50.

At some point there will be herd immunity.
Might not need a vaccine every year.

I remember swine flu, bird flu, SARS, MERS, on and on.

We will get through this. We may be close to herd immunity now.

Because I have a 99.997% chance of being fine IF I get it.

Wife and I get our first dose today. To answer your question, yes I will get it and because a bout with pneumonia would probably kill me.

It depends on when I'm offered it. If I'm offered it now I'll wait. I would prefer to wait a couple or three years to be sure there are no side effects hitting people down the line since these things were rushed through the red tape much faster than a typical vaccine is. No way of knowing if they actually dotted all of their i's and crossed all of their t's with it. If there seem to be no real problems with it a couple of years from now and the disease is still a concern then sure I'll get it then. I'd be a lot closer to the age to start taking it somewhat seriously (I'd be getting close to 60) then.

Yes. I'm 60. I'm considered high risk. I want to get my life back.

my doctor wanted me to take it, told him no thanks. He was pretty upset about it went on a rant about 2 of his relatives dying from the virus. I told him I will take my chances unless my job forces me to take it. No telling what the long term side effects are, this vaccine was hurried even though those pushing it claim it's been being developed for many years.
