I grew up in the heart of tbe delta and went to public school in the county, 5th thru 12th. My school was 70% black. I was picked on relentlessly by both black girls and boys. One boy in particular cornered me in a vacant hallway my senior year, hit me with his belt and dared me to say anything to anyone. So, I don't really give a frick about made up systemic racism or white privilege. Those are excuses for people to act like animals with no repercussions.

I was schooled in Louisiana public schools so I was in class and on the playground with blacks daily. I became friends with them too.
There were some definite cultural differences. I knew some that I was happy to call my friend. Some were not the type you want to associate with. I can say the same for whites that I’ve met.

Looking back on it, it was post Jim Crow and there was a lot of accepted racism around. I always felt bad for the kids who grew up in single parent homes with basically nothing. They lived in shacks. The kids never did anything to deserve that.

I grew up in Donaldsonville in the public school system. Got bullied until I got to high school. I get a kick out of hearing people say black people can’t be racist

Belle Rose here.

Was told more than once in elementary school "you white boys don't belong here"

Went to Assumption. Rode the bus. 54 kids on the bus, 46 were black. Once we had a kid who was expelled from school for bringing a pistol, jump on the bus at one of the stops to announce "imma shoot all you white mother frickers"

Got in a couple of scraps in Dville.

But for the most part, I felt a bit of animosity towards blacks because of it. But at the same time had black friends, so I knew deep down not all blacks hated me. We were jumped, had stuff taken from us. We were always outnumbered so we never provoked the fights.

I have several coworkers that are black that I care about, really good dudes, coincidentally all from Donaldsonville.

My neighbor across the street of 22 years is a black retired Marine. We help each other here and there with projects.

When kids hate other kids because of race, that comes from the home.

Not directly, but it is a part of life where there should be much more common ground. Which would help relations I believe.

Do you only have good relationships with people that you again with politically?

I was the token white guy on biddy basketball teams from the time I was 5-12. The whole team used to sleep at our house. So a good bit

Yeah. The rest tend to be leftist trolls who express their bigotry through deliberately tortured questions.

RACISM is a sponsored phenomonom by the Democratic Party, large corporations, and the MSM!

It is not as real as many believe....it is mainly a TV / Social Media event.

Most ALL the Blacks and Whites I deal with are just fine...

Don't let it consume your life.

In Chicago the blacks that are racist do it in a passive aggressive style. New Orleans and Jamaica had some of the most outright black racists I’ve had to deal with.

Yep. I've seen this with a lot of Europeans also. They equate 'black' with their experience with African immigrants in Europe and are usually shocked when they encounter black culture in the US.

This conversation deserves it's own thread.

18 years in the military, so a lot. We’re far more harmonious than the media wants everyone to think.

Like my grandfather and father before me, I employ blacks and have black customers. Most are good people and I enjoy dealing with them. The occasional a-hole,black or white, gets met with the same ignorance and disdain they show me.
