Only if you want to see the obvious logical ending, moved forward in time.

This won't end well for gun control supporters.

The Chicago suburb of Deerfield, Illinois

Not exactly a crime-ridden hot spot.. probably one Starbucks for every AR-15.

Deerfield Violent Crime Rate (per 1,000 residents): 0.26 [Safer than 82% of U.S. Cities]

"The median income for a household in the village was $107,194, and the median income for a family was $118,683."

These are exactly the types that are easiest to control. They don't even moan or protest that it's happening, don't even realize it.
Like you said,99% of the homes probably already don't own a firearm. But NOW,it's national news that there are no guns there.
If there are a few criminals up there who can read, they are going to have problems.

Well, in their defense, they did sort of answer your question (with their list).

Doubt this does them any good though. Just a paper tiger

Actually, the ordinance is satisfied if the assault weapon is registered and properly stored. The ordinance also states that it is satisfied by an assault weapon owner if the weapon is:
quote:

“unloaded and enclosed in a case, firearm carrying box, shipping box, or other container by a person who has been issued a currently valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Card.”

That seems more like an ordinance designed to keep assault weapons in the hands of law abiding citizens and out of the hands of burglars.

It would be more productive if some of yall didn't lie about things.

What part of "shall not be infringed" do you not understand?

Government: Register your weapon.
Citizen: No.
Government: You are not allowed to own the weapon.

It doesn't get any more basic than that.

Do you even understand the difference between a right and a privilege?

Serious question.

That part is literally under the transportation of assault weapons exceptions

scroll up to 15-87

Safe Storage of Assult Weapons; Exceptions

It shall be unlawful to possess, bear, manufacture, sell, transfer, transport, store or keep any assault weapon in the Village

You would be surprised if you knew how many people are tired of these mass shootings. Gotta start someplace if they are to be eliminated.

Then why are you talking about banning guns?

They have zero to do with why the shootings (and bombings, and stabbings, and beatings, etc. etc. etc) are happening.

I just don't understand why people like you continue to address the how and not the way. The how will just change. The why will continue.

It wasn't upheld, it just wasn't heard. That'll be changing when Kennedy gets replaced.

I know, but the idiots love to say that SCOTUS upheld the Maryland case, and I love to call them out on it.

So, beginning June 13, banned assault weapons in Deerfield will include semiautomatic rifles with a fixed magazine and a capacity to hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition,

Does that mean I can have a kajillion round magazine on my deer rifle as long as it is removable?
