Charity is no part of the legislative duty of government.- James Madison.
Charity is an individual responsibility, not a collectivist one.

I'm against it completely as a policy.

But if we have to have them, SNAP or food stamps should only be available as an extremely short-term bridge for people in tough situations. Qualifying should be very strict. You should be limited how many times you can be on it in your life. Say, 2 or 3 times for 90 days at a time - MAX.

Cut off all SNAP benefits until big grocery and big food cuts their prices by 50% It’s nothing but a payoff to big corporations

Yes. I would love to see how SNAP/EBT in grocery stores (instead of "government cheese") has actually affected food prices. This situation is akin to the government getting into the student loan game. All it does is drive up prices because Uncle Sam will pay whatever.

I agree... the problem is, we have innocent children who had no say in their creation and who their parents are, caught in the middle of this issue.

Late shift at Taco Bell could offset that.

I wonder how many of those families still receive SNAP benefits on top of that.

The public should be terrified of it,

The public is powerless to stop it and Congress would be happy to cede more of their work responsibilities to the Executive Branch. They would then have more time to smile on Cable News and run for reelections.

Which is backwards.

We need the proper checks and balances, or the court will be the one who "checks" executive power.

Simple economics tell you that it creates demand for some things, ie crab legs, that typically wouldn't be there. So yes it definitely has an upward force on pricing.

I’ve got a friend who has worked in a SNAP office in a medium sized city for 22 years. She says 40% is fraud with people gaming the system

before you downvote, please listen to what I have to say.

34 to 347 on the votes, I guess they didn't listen to what you had to say.

Unless it's fixed..it needs to go away.

Tired of seeing motherfrickers who made it a career to mooch off the government.

Women who will never work, but still have a lot of kids, so they can get an absurd amount of food stamps every month, section 8, ebt cash.

Kick everyone off that shite. Then set up a new system, only for the elderly, and disabled. And even then, I'd set the shite at a max cap of around 200 a month.

It's beyond retarded to have an escalating system set up like we have now. To the point of a bitch who doesn't work....and has 8+ kids is bringing in more resources than most white collar workers who are working their asses off. They bringing in more than two or three times as much compared to most blue collar workers.
