From what I read, they both did what you'd expect.
Russia's was much more limited in capacity/stealth, but was really fast, so they could talk about how awesome it was by being fast.
China's looks like it stole tech but is likely very limited (in terms of mobility, IIRC) and the technology isn't close to the F35
Both are closer to the F22, which is like 20 years old.

Media is saying no missiles made it through yet there are numerous videos all over the internet showing a rain of missiles.
Either the media has talking points to make it appear this isn't as bad as it is, it really isn't as bad as it looks, OR Iran is posting those videos to trick their people into thinking they were successful

With the weapons these jets carry today most experts don't expect to ever see dogfighting again where speed and mobility matter. It's just a matter of who sees who first. Stealth is king.

It's not really that as much as petro becoming so important for the world and the ME having a frick ton of it. If they didn't have major petro deposits, they'd all be less developed than SSA (other than Israel) and no threat to anyone.

What should they do? I honestly think the middle east is the only thing Biden has handled well. He and Kamala have acted like they care about civilian casualties and wanting to rein in Israel, while they have actually done nothing whatsoever to restrain them. Trump would just be more honest about letting Israel level the region.
